Here in Sandpoint ID to PU lumber to deliver to Dallas on Friday...we should have loaded today @2, but my "trainer" took his time sending in an empty call(I think that is what it's called) at least a 20min too late and then know that we only had 2 hours to get to the shipper he still stopped at Flying J to get his coffee. We got there at 3:30 and they closed at 3..good for him we have to wait for the morning...1900miles that this guy doesn't deserve...Since he is now almost a day late loading this, watch him run us as a team..
Anyway the plan is to drop me off at the Dallas terminal to get my own truck, glad it not Birmingham, they would probably give me Flatbdn dump....lol j/k
Today was another day of huge mountains, very scary but I'm getting used to them and am getting much better at shifting thru them...next few days the mountains continue..ID, MT, WY, CO, before flattening out in OK and TX..I don't want to see fkn mountains for a few months.. -
I'll still be popping in from time to time and offering assistance where I can but you also still got triletter, wyndup and mrh2008 for advice. I'll let everyone know later where I'm at but I will say the new gig is Midwest regional with home every weekend.
Sad thing is I know of 20 people that left last week and that's not good. But I left for a lot of the same reasons triad did (minus the Wanda situation). -
my first trucking job was running 11 western. I had to do mountains everyday almost. I was supprised to.find out that once I got my own truck I became more comfortable. Never let another driver pressure you to go faster than you think you should. Always be in a gear that you can coast down the mountain with the Jake on where you don't need the break. As time goes by. Mountain wont bother you.the rule I use is that if I have to touch the breaks twice I down shift.
Sounds like you got a bad trainer. That sucks but at least you can recognize what he does wrong. Good luck . -
I didn't know you left, flatbrdn! When was this!?

I'm in sand springs OK right now. 400 mile run and I need to throw 12 chains on it. Flat steel. Fun stuff.

flatbedn, it's kind of frustrating how little information you're giving us on just why you left. If you don't want to post it publicly, could you at least PM me?

I want to get my final paycheck.
