fatality

I am doing a little research for my brother in law that had a young driver of a pick=up truck run into him head on, beleived to be comitting suicide. My brother in law was hurt bad enough to disable him. The young man that hit him was killed, sadly. I am searching for other similar accidents to help him with a Workman's Comp Lawsuit. If you have any info I would appreciate it. I am so sorry for your accident. I will keep you in my prayers.

 

d dog, I too was in a fatal in August. A guy on foot chased the front of my truck until I hit him. Ruled suicide. I was fine for a month and a half then a couple of kids triggered the anxiety and depression. It's PTSD and now I'm off work seeing a shrink and an MD. The shrink figures months instead of years to get over it but I don't know if I want to drive anymore (30+ years).

I'm sorry I didn't get to you sooner but I just don't visit this thread that often. Your reaction is normal and it will not be easy getting back in the truck but you've got to do and I recommend doing it alone.

My 2 fatality accident happen on a desert road back in 1991 when I was driving a gasoline Truck and Trailer. Around 8:00 in the morning a guy in a white van came up on me and started to pass me. Of course I saw right away we were going to have problems here. About the same time a small pick-up was coming the other. I moved over on the shoulder as much as I could and the pick-up also moved over. My last thought before the crash was "if everyone just stay where they are we'll be fine". Then as the pick-up was on the shoulder he went too far over and in the dirt. His front tire was in the dirt and he panicked and turned it back. As soon as the tire came up on the asphalt again it grab the small truck and shot him right into the on coming van. The van shot up and rotated to where the drivers door was now on the road side. The pick-up turned 180° and was facing the same as we were. The pick-up burst into flames and my large co2 bottle did not help. The van, as he was up in the air, came down where his front passenger wheel shaved the side of my tank trailer. It did not rupture or have any leaks. I was fully loaded heading to AZ out of Las Vegas on U.S. 95 just south of Searchlight. I only felt the trailer wiggle just a bit but both the other drivers pasted away.


Of course the state showed up and did the inspection right then with no problems on my part. My boss showed up and was extremely helpful. This is what he told me " It was their time to go and not yours. You had no cause in this and most likely saved your life as well".

This accident you had will stay with you for a long long time. You can see I can remember everything that happened and just about everyday I hear a noise or a smell that brings me right back almost 25 years ago. And when that happens I just remember what the boss told me. The hardest was getting back up in the truck. The boss offered to take the load in but I said no and dropped the trailer so it could be pumped off and took the truck down to unload at least half their load. In your spirituality find someone to talk about what happened. Find anyone that understands because the best I found for me was talking about the accident. Just be careful who you talk with and just explain the parts that make you feel better. That's worked for me and this is very serious if it keeps you bothered. I can tell you the same that my boss told me it was not your fault and you shouldn't "what if" this at all. It was their time and not yours. I hope you don't see anymore and Good Luck to you. You don't sue Workman's Comp, you go after the vehicle that hit you. That's what I did.
