I've been working for a small outfit in Washington, IN and have been getting a lot of emails and calls from EP Transportation about working in Princeton, IN. After finding this thread and getting more information, it sounds like a pretty good deal and would be better home time than I am getting at the moment, with just a slight pay decrease. I haven't hear too much lately if everything is still looking good for drivers that are pulled in that aren't with Ryder. EP Trans said they are guaranteeing $900/wk now with over $1,000 sign on bonus paid out over 90 days (I think). Anybody still have their ear to the ground on this situation?

Yep $900 a week. They lied to us down South and said, "the reason we pay that is they have to be willing to team." Then the Ryder driver I knew from there told me there isn't any team runs. They lied. I called them on it too. The Mississippi people are pissed. Ryder got raises last year. We didn't.
On just about every level the Princeton drivers tell me that Ryder can't get their act together. You don't bid your run. You are assigned a run. Many of the trucks are autos with radar that slows them down. Also kicks the jake on when it wants to. Someon bought songle axles and then they figured out that legally they couldn't haul the weight. New tandem axle tractors have a bogie axle. They are shorter than the older ones and handle squirlly on rough roads. Their trailers are junk, the lazy drivers up there don't pretrip the trailers. I was having tires changed in Nashville sometimes once a week. Lights out, expired inspections etc. Lazy steering wheel holders up there. I like the people down here at Ryder. They are tops. -
I know this is an old thread, but in case anyone runs cross it : I went to Ryder's job fair or whatever you call it, a few weeks ago in southern Indiana. For solo drivers they guarantee $900/week. Team is $1,200/week. You have to be available to be dispatched though, of course. For this area the guy said I would be hauling into the Toyota plants. Everything he said souldn't great. I haven't done my online application, but I'm going to, for sure. There was a lady I talked to also, and she gave me her number and said to call if I had any questions. I've had my CDL for over 16 years, and have driven most of those years, but I only have abou 6 months in semis. The guy said that would't be a problem. They'd put me with someone for probably a couple of weeks to make sure I can drive. They seemed somewhat desperate for drivers, like most companies are. I have a medical issue that will hopefully be resolved soon. That's only I didn't

That's the only reason I didn't apply immediately. I didn't wanna get the job and have to miss work quite a bit.

I get a guarantee of 850 where I am. Harder to get drivers in Princeton Indiana. EP Transport is where you may start as a temp. In Nashville they want 9mo for experience.
Heavy_Load Thanks this. -
Maybe not drivers, but they sure are hurting for mechanics.
