if that is the case with the DUI's they need to tell people that up front, I an the victim of a company who used my DAC as a weapon, and I don't think it is fair to be treated like that, just because you Looove J.B. Hunt, as to the APU, my first company was James H. Clark and son out of SLC, and they had something called a RigMaster, it is the most beautiful invention in the whole world, it is easy to fix, and maintenance is cheap, and you can run it for a lot more than 8 hrs, me and my #$$ hole trainer got stuck in a snow storm in Seattle for three days and it never gave out, it doesn't run on fuel, it is amazing. I think J.B. is just plain stupid for not looking into it, there is talk that fuel will never again drop below it's current price, it is dumb to not invest. But what do I know, I dont have some stupid degree that telles me what to think about money. :biggrin_25516: :biggrin_255:

I too have seen JB Hunt sitting all over the truck lots and why? To inquire about any company; one only needs to speak to a driver and see. As to recruiters posting comments in this forum, I have no problem!

But, the recruiter from JB Hunt who posted these snide, sacastic remarks, just goes to show how attitude is everything; from getting qualified drivers to keeping them... I rest my case!

    Question:

If you get a teammate, can your idle time go to 90%?

It's obvious these guys, and companies like them, are trying to "freeze" you into changing your mind about team driving. Despise running team? Gonna quit if your outfit forces you to team? Well, let's see how you feel after a month or two in a freezing bunk.

In a couple of months, you'll be trying to sleep in a roasting bunk if you stay stubborn and refuse to be herded into the 'teaming' corral.

One way or the other, drivers are gonna have to accept teammates.

GOT A CALL THE OTHER DAY WITH NO NUMBER THAT SHOWED UP ON MY CELL PHONE. THE MAN WANTED TO KNOW IF I WOULD BE INTERESTED IN LEASEING A TRUCK WITH NO MONEY DOWN, THEN SAID HE WORKED FOR JB HUNT.
I WORKED FOR YOU AND EVERY DRIVER I KNOW THAT HAS WORKED FOR JB HAS NOT HAD ANYTHING BUT A BAD EXPERENCE.
" I TELL YOU WHAT FELLA, YOU HAVE TO BE STUPID OR HAVE A LOT OF GUTS CALLING EX-DRIVERS."
I WENT ON TO SAY THAT FULE PRICES HAVE WENT OVER FOUR DOLLARS A GALLON AND A LOT OF OWNER OPPERATORS ARE GOING UNDER. IF YOU WANT DRIVERS TO LEASE YOUR TRUCKS I WOULD SUGGEST CALLING THE MENTAL HOSPITALS. EVEN THOES PEOPLE WILL TELL YOU NO, THE MAY BE CRAZY BUT NOT STUPID.

Scotty, that's funny, and I agree. Jobber should call the mental asylums for takers, absolutely.

The bottom line is the companies are running out of people to lie to. More and more drivers are getting smart to the scams in trucking and at a few companies in particular. I read an awful lot of stories here about greenies going to orientations, and I wonder if the guys who quit those now-open jobs will ever be heard.

I hate to say it, but the fact that there is no one left to lie to means the Mexicans are coming, boys. That's a whole new pool of fools who'll accept the lies...for now. Where do they go after the Mexicans wise up? Nicaragua?

One question about companies like JobHunt:

Do they have more drivers or more recruiters at those outfits? By the sound of it, I think these outfits could solve a significant portion of their turnover 'problems' if they'd resort to putting recruiters in the drivers' seats. Those ARE great jobs, after all, at least according to the recruiters, right?

I concur, if the jobs are so good, why don't you recruiters sit at it for a while? No, they really are.....

Idle time would go down by team driving, not up. And to achieve less than 50% idle time, you simply have to drive one minute more than the idle time on the truck. It's not 2 hours driving for every one idling. I wish it was cold out, instead of so #### hot. Easier to stay warm than it is to cool off. Sitting around 7-8% idle--too much for me.

Of course idling time goes down when the rig is driven by a team. That's the reason teaming will become the status quo before too much longer. After teaming becomes the norm, I'm sure outfits will set idling percentage targets to boot. Targets will initially be around 25%, maybe 20. It'll go down from there.

:biggrin_25523:I was a recruiter for 13 years. The only difference was I required a $30,000 retainer fee before I even picked up the phone. I use to recruite guys that would eat you for breakfast.

I'm sure your not on retainer and I'll almost bet you work for commissions only. Contingency. Ouch!! Thats a hard way to go pal.

I used to get about 2 to 3 phone calls a week from you guys. Its as if the right hand didn't know what the left hand was doing. Kind of like a meat market. If this style is any indication how JB runs its operations, I personally think your SOL. :biggrin_25523:

Well, i read a lot of comments about JB.

I am an owner operator driving for them a little over a year. I cant say i waited a long time for a load. They told us 2200 miles per week and thats what i am getting mostly. My dispatcher is Larry R. and i like him.

Having said that, honestly, they were not the best paying company out there, but now after fuel prices they became one of the worst paying companies. Hard for an O/O especially hauling mostly 44 to 45 K lb JB loads. 0.90 cpm + 40 cpm FSC.

Their equipment is in very good condition though. Relations with drivers, as far as i saw myself, mostly driver whinings and ########. But some weekend dispatchers and breakdown staff have their own share of monthly period times as well.

The reason i am still driving for JB is my loyalty. And this is because they hired me when no1 wanted to. I live in NM, Santa Fe and it is very hard to find a company to drive for since NM is out of most good companie's hiring area. Except than SWIFT and WERNER, KNIGHT, CR ENGLAND, US EXPRESS. But as u all can imagine they dont have anything more to offer than JB Hunt.

JB Hunt does not have TEAMS, except than very few family teams. In other companies as a solo driver, we do not stand much of chance to survive. They use solo drivers to get into shipper , get live load and drive couple miles and hand the load to team drivers. At least at JB when u get the load, it is yours. No swap this, swap that ########.

But i will quit JB Hunt. I can not survive with those fuel prices and heavy loads. Finally i am accepted by the company i always wanted to work for. Great Wide. 97 cpm, 52 cpm FSC, 146 $ layover, 3000-3500 miles per week, you sweep trailer they pay, you fart they pay, you sneeze they pay. Tyson-Wal Mart and Sysco accounts mostly.

After all i can not complain much about JB. I have learnt a lot from them, i made my share of money, and i returned the favor by being % 100 safe and % 100 ontime pick up and delivery.

I may be wrong in my observations, after all i have only 2 years experience. But i tried to give you all my honest opinions whether it means something or not to readers.

God Bless you all and be safe out there :biggrin_25520:
