I see a lot of talk about bad weeks as far as pay could some one give me an example of what a new wheel holder can expect to bring home per week running western 11 ??

I am a new hire at May but I run the 48. I have heard if you want the bigger pay check, 48 is the way to go.

Sorry, doesn't answer your question, but I have just done two runs and got some hometime after orientation. Am reasonably happy so far. I did talk with one 11 western driver for May who doesn't get many miles but it is apparent from talking to him that he likes to sit on his butt in a driver's lounge as much as possible instead of driving.

Avoid the idiots in the Brooks Driver's lounge. They are not representative.

Another n00b here, just had the recruiter visit to my trucking school, and I'm curious as well.

Are you doing the 90-day flat pay, or are you sticking to cpm?

How was training for you? Good or bad?

How are your miles so far?

What's it like doing reefer for them? How's the equipment?

I've heard they tend to pay a bit less than others to start, do the other benefits and other duties pay compensate for that?

    Thanks for the info!

I.worked for.may last year. Me and a buddy from.driving school started at the same time. That being said. I felt may has a really good training program. But the pay is very low. The have a 90$ a day for 90 days. I used that so I had constant income for 3 months. But I did sit a lot and my best week was maybe 2400 miles. Worst being 1400 with my averse at about 1800. My buddy still drives for may and he has said he is doing pretty good.

That's a shame. I am getting pretty good miles right now with May. Been on almost a month. You gotta push hard in trucking, no 40 hour weeks for us! Actually, a 40 hour work week in trucking is a sit, sit, sit week.

one thing with May is they have great truck. I miss my peterbuilt. I am.driving a kwt660. I have thought about going back to may a few times even though it would be a significant pay cut. If they had APUs I would. Do the still micro manage the fuel? They ran me out of fuel and def a couple times.

Yes, they do. Their stinginess with DEF is quite annoying, though I totally understand their not wanting to pay high fuel prices. On the brightside, I end up with lotsa shower credits when I get a "splash" here, a "splash" (of fuel) there.
