Seems like FFE bought them many years ago, and FFE was subsequently bought by KLLM
-
They were in Ft. Worth, however, I believe FFE, their parent, dismantled them.
-
I thought lisa was bought by Celadon. It was the dry side of FFE (Frozen foods express). FFe was later sold out to KLLM.
-
^^^^^^Uh Nope--American eagle WAS FFE dry side at one time--Lisa--was a meat hauler outfit(rails and all)outta Ft Worth--BUT---FFE bought them out years ago--not sure when Lisa was full integrated into FFE--but that was also some time ago......SO its all part of KLLM now
-
Yep. We (KLLM) still pull a few Lisa trailers.

I worked for Lisa Motor Lines in Fort Worth the winter of 2006, with a new CDL. They put me with a trainer who was a PTSD veteran from Iraq, both army and mercenary service. He was obsessed with his divorce and the loss of custody of his little girls. He was taking meds which the Lisa people told him to flush out of his system before testing, but then told him he could start them again. I was there. Later driving with him OTR, this guy told me he went to Iraq twice because he was suicidal about his family situation. When he wasn't ranting about these issues, he was talking non-stop about the internet cutie in Russia whom he planned to get to the States in order to marry her, sight unseen. While I was on the road with him in Ohio, my husband called me long distance from the hospital in the Northeast, because he had had a heart attack. I was so upset I told the trainer to please drive for me, as I was shaking so bad. That same afternoon he called the Lisa terminal and told them I was unfit to become one of their drivers. They fired me. I told them the trainer was mentally unstable and dangerous, but they didn't care. I went immediately to Werner, where I had more crazy trainers. Then I let my CDL lapse. I know you guys have no pity on here and will call me a whiner. But, at least, I am still alive.

I completely understand and support your decision to not drive after receiving news of that nature. Heck, they say if you wake up grumpy then don't drive! YOU did the right thing. They did not.

I worked for AEL from 1994 to 2004 and picked up a few loads from the Lisa terminal in Houston. They're still listed in the Yellow Pages as Lisa Motor Freight in Fort Worth.
