    it's of great use to me.

    i'm unloaded. and i'm going home. regardless of enough hours or not. i'm not under dispatch. and neither is my trailer. it's coming home with me.

    To quote from FMCSA in an interpretation letter to a carrier on this subject -

    Come on by the scale here, dead-heading home, claiming PC. You might get to spend 10 hours in my lot with a receipt for your troubles.

    so let me get this straight

    my truck, my trailer, unladen going home, why am i any different than the uhaul or RV cruising down the road, pulling a trailer?

    he's not operating a commercial vehicle. he's driving his personal vehicle home.

    he's off duty, with no dispatch. time to go home.

    maybe if he had one of them NOT FOR HIRE signs. :biggrin_25525:
