Picked up pipe in Houston going to Marietta, OH. I have to start loading the 53's forward to keep me from reloading. Sheesh!

What do you mean forward? From front to back? I'm a rookie, but don't you have to more or less mark the halfway point(22 1/2) of your trailer and work from there?? I can ask my "trainer" if you'd like??...LOL

Yep, you are supposed to load from the middle, is what I was told. However, in two different cases I have done that (even counted the pockets to make sure the yellow mark and the other middle mark were accurate) and still had problems. One was a load of flooring and the other was a load of pipe. The pipe was reloaded right up to the bulkhead and worked great. I was also told by a couple of drivers that load at least a foot forward of the middle.

I have been with Melton for 10 months and am feeling pretty good most of the time. Others, I have rookie screaming all over me. I think like a lot of other things in life, while everything is based on science, there is still a certain art to getting things right. Maybe I think too much.

Kill... Yep I was on 55. I delivered a day early already, now I wait to load tomorrow in Fort Smith. Beautiful drive along 540? I think it is. Had an hour and a half left of drive time so I just made it to Hilltop Travel.

Supposed to go to NC by Monday. I think I can do that. My pickup time is 3pm tomorrow and deliver 9pm Monday. Never had these late times before, but I'll roll with it. 1000 miles. Should sit at 2900 for this check after this.

Triletter I will remember that. Haven't had to reload yet...

I used to load stuff in the middle as well. It doesn't work out. I always load 1-2 feet forward now. I've only had to reload once, but it was after I'd thrown all 3 tarps, that was a fun day.

If I were to get 2 coils at 47k or so and load it dead center, my drives would be at around 30k and my spread would be closer to 40k. Makes it ride like poo. Move it forward a foot or 2 and you'd be closer to 34 and 35. On heavy loads, I like to see my suspension gauge at just about 52psi. Keep in mind that your gauge may not read the same as mine at the same weight. I think it was Noggin that told me he was over weight at 50psi, I'm between 33 and 34k at 52psi.

Normally, when I load coils they bring the heavy one first. This time they brought the light one first and I am legal but it rides like crap.

In Danville Va..and not a happy driver. I rolled out of Tulsa on Tuesday for an 10 pm pick up. I get there and wait until my turn to get loaded. First roll of paper hits the truck at 7am. No sleep all of that time to keep my spot in line. I'm completely loaded at around 730. I tarp and roll to the front and park and send eta for Friday at 1600 and go to sleep. Wake up and see that eta is good to go. I awake this morning toa message saying cut off time for delivery is 1500. I can't make that is my reply I'm told I may have to set on load until Monday. This will be third weekend in a row that I'm not rolling.

Sitting at the Wally World in Barbousville, WV. Deliver in the morning about 2.5 hrs away in Marietta, OH. Got a pre-plan to go to Cinci area for a noon pick up heading to Sidney, NE. Hope the off load goes quick since shipper is about 4 hrs away. Going to be running recap so the Mon delivery ain't happening. DM said not to worry that it is open ended and she will schedule it based on my rolling macro. That's the plan unless the trucking gods decided to muck it up. :biggrin_25526:
