This has got to be the worst job I have ever had. There are so many things wrong with this place I don't even know where to start.
I guess first and foremost if you are applying with this account please be advised that the manager for CPC will tell you anything to get you in the door. But the truth be told everything he tells you is a lie. If you do happen togoto work for these guys don't plan on getting any time off and never get sick, you will be required to work anyway. you will not receive the personal days you are given and they will cancel your vacation at the last minute. Their company policy states that you are not guaranteed the vacation dates you select even if approved. Any non refundable plans you make are at the sole discretion of the employee and will not be reimbursed by cpc if your vacationis canceled. If your vacation is canceled you will be assigned a week by your manager as CPC does not payout for vacation at the end of the year. Sounds like a top notch company so far,right...
Their equipment is junk. Most trucks have 800,000 plus miles on them. They leak fluids, have bad tires, electrical problems, lights don't work, air leaks, heat and ad don't work and exhaust leaks just to name a few. If you notify dispatch about truck problems, depending on who you talk to, you will either get brushed off and nothing done or be told "every time you get into a truck you find a problem, there is nothing wrong with that truck take it anyway."
If you break down it is on you, don't expect any help frm transportation, they won't even call the road service for you.
The trailers you will have to unload are a joke. The loads are hand loaded and floor stacked. You will setup rollersin the trailer to unload everything by hand. There is no load securment at Walgreens. They say that the dot does not require them to secure their loads. When you get in your trailer most of the time it will be loaded to the very backand all the way to the ceiling. You will have to hang off the side of the trailer to get started, if it doesn't fall out on the ground first. Plan on unloading about 40000 lbs of stuff a day. The fun part is unloading full pallets of drinking water in 24 packs. There is nothing on the bottom of the water besides plastic film.they do not roll. You will have to push them to the end of the truck. I've had as many as 10 pallets (84 cases each) on a truck plus all the other crap. The way they load the trucks you will always have freight falling on you. Most of the time all the heavy stuff is on the top. After you are finnished with your route, plan on getting back hauls. This consists of going to a supplier and hand unloading all the totes you picked up throughout your day, putting them on an empty staged trailer and reloading. It will take about 1 to 2 hrs.
You will be working 60 hrs a week. You will start your day between 11:00pm and 5:00 am and work about 12 to 14 hours a day. Pay is ok but it isn't worth the headaches this place causes.
Cpc is nothing more than a big temp agency. You are not guaranteed a job or any hours. Walgreens makes all the calls on everything. From time off, schedules to even who works or not. CPC is a bunch of gutless turds that will NOT
stand up for their employees. all they are interested in is keeping a driver there to be their mule for a while. They don't care about you, your family or anyone else's well being. You are nothing but a disposable monkey to them. They will work you into the ground and then get rid of you unless you have had enough and quit before they get the chance.
I hope this helps some other poor fellow before they get suckered like I did. I found another job and was immediately dismissed. I regret not giving notice while I was on a route so Gonzolo could dismiss me. Since I left 2 weeks ago 2 more drivers found new jobs and were terminated immediately. I wish I could personally ave a chat face to face with Luna!!!

Thnx for heads up RAMM440 ...
Hopefully we can terminate useless companies like this ,...by black flagging them ,let truth be our witness only !!!seawind Thanks this. -
Ramm440 (profile: trucking 28 years ) Next time do your research before accepting a new job.
I have a new facility near me that I looked into. They have all new equipment and I did research their logistics company online. It's not the right fit for me but might be right for others. -
Well dude you don't what your in for until you are in it and after all you would think Walgreens would be a class act. Ask the local peddle drivers how they like unloading 10 pallets of water that doesn't roll by hand with no pallet jack just roller and your back! Your just starting out with a 5 years of what ever kind of experience? I have always done food service but this is cave man style ramp and handcart would be a pleasure. Some days you get a farm load (dig) miners load (cave ins). New equipment now but no air bag drop? It would help unloading if the trailers had air drop. Oh yeah little to no maintainence is done to repair bent and broken rollers. Sometimes they forget to give you 7 rollers on a 53' trailer.
good luck with your research.seawind Thanks this. -
As a former store assistant manager who just left after 7 years I can vouch for everything you said. I assisted in bringing in many, many truckloads of product. The trailers are always a mess. As far as the idea of Walgreens being a classy company that treats folks even halfway decent or remotely fair, hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!jakkyl Thanks this.

How is it that this post is exactly the same, word for word, as the one in this thread, even though the locations and the original posters are different?

Well Voyager I am wrong to copy another drivers account but it was so accurate as to what we experience out of Moreno Valley which covers CA, AZ, NV
-
The truth of immediate dismissal when we found new jobs and gave the courtesy of a 2 week notice is an additional horror
-
But its better reading your words and what exactly you went thru.Makes the posts more personal.I delivered to a few Walgreen dcs and those were all dives.

Your right but I was so tired from unloading I took a break. Anyone else got the balls to give their account?
