I was wondering where I could get one of those. Thanks. I'm ASSuming the step-up transformer mod increases the output and/or changes the impedance?

What's wrong with the Cobra M-77??? I've been using one for several years and it works great for me.

 

It makes it louder as I understand it. The tech I use does the mod, I didn't do it. Nice heavy duty commercial grade mic. made out of good stuff! You might be able to find how to do the mod and wire it up on CBTricks. He was the moderator there for the first few years.

 

I was less than impressed with the one I have. Didn't have anywhere near the same sound as my other NC Mic's...more tinny sounding. But, could just be me...Mic's tend to act differently with different peoples voices.

 

This is true...Redman does that allot, and so does a few others on eBay...

Still...I haven't found any shops that still have the SRA 198 in stock...You can however get one with some New radios as a stock-Mic...I know the General Lee's were coming from the factory with the SRA 198's. And the Mirage 36HP and Mirage MX86-HP also come factory with the SRA 198...
