Today ended up not being to awfully bad. Did get unloaded in a timely manner, tho they gave me every junk pallet they had as an "exchange". Really hate this stupid pallet exchange crap!!! Ended up having to pay for all new pallets at the next place and the broker wasn't to happy.
Am on my way to Grand Rapids, where it looks like I'll be getting a reset. Hope this place has laundry facilities.
GPS couldn't find this I'm going to till I googled maps. Seems I'm actually going to a suburb. Last time I went to this cold storage was with TA. Hope their faster this time than last!!HometimeQueen Thanks this. -
BTW.... anybody need some chittlen's? Got 40000lbs..
HometimeQueen Thanks this. -
What is up with New Jersey and no left turns and also I noticed you have to pay to get out of the state.
-
Grr. Whole load rejected. 16000 lbs of toilet paper. Whole load shifted off the pallets front to back.
-
Will you have to take it somewhere to be re-stacked, kf40mc? The king has had a couple of loads shift because of the way they throw it on the truck, one time they took it anyway, just had to pay extra on the lumper, but one time he had to take it to be re-stacked.

I need some toilet paper. Come on over. I think my wife thinks she is trying to start a lawnmower when she uses the toilet paper, she puts one foot on the wall and just yanks. Good thing she aint on here. LOL

FM had me just bring it back 60 miles to the drop yard I picked it up from. Says won't find any one to redo the load till monday. 120 mile round trip wasted.
-
There are several reasons for load to shift like that. The first to me is improper loading. I have hauled TP and paper towels. If it is not loaded right it can be a mess at destination. If no overhang on pallet they should be chimney blocked. They fit tighter and far less chance of movement resulting in reduced chance of a claim.
Another is, light loads like that can be moved, tossed around by running over a curb or cornering too fast. Curbs and humps tends to twist the trailer and that in turn moves the product . Then once it begins to move it is going to get worse. The shifting could have been done by first driver to move it. Some drivers tend to do things a bit faster with a light load.
No time wasted if you got paid for driving. Company should set loading standards with customer to avoid claims. No cost to teach some fork lift drivers how to do the job they were hired to do.HometimeQueen Thanks this.
