My Week @ Arnold Transportation...

Where do I start? Yes you read correctly...1 week.

Pros:

Recruiter was nice.
Put on Fleet that would make me great money.

Cons:

I was hired onto their "Atlanta Weekly" fleet. I was told at hire that I would be paid $150 per day to haul short haul loads with the option to work weekends if I wanted. Decent money.

1 Week later I get a call from my Fleet Manager saying that the pay structure on the fleet has been changed to Mileage/Per load pay. No warning, no heads up or anything. Just a phone call, and he could not have cared less. At all. He's salaried, he doesn't give a crap. The very first load I received since this change was a load that picked up and dropped in the same state, roughly 20 miles away from one another, but dropped the next day. $75 for the day. Saw that coming a mile away.

This is the most disorganized trucking company I have ever experienced. The last day of orientation was a complete disaster. everyone is everywhere, mayhem, confusion, no one knows whats going on. Guys were getting calls from other trucking companies and scheduling orientations with them for the next week IN CLASS because they were so pissed about the situation.

During orientation, I overheard many drivers complaining about how their checks were inaccurate on payday. Same happened to me a week later. It is complete hell trying to get paid by these people, and they will basically just end up saying "tough luck, wait until next week".

Their trucks are very small. I could not imagine going over the road in one of those Peterbilts they have. Hopefully you aren't claustrophobic.

Again, I was told at hire that I would be paid one thing and they change it a week later, knowing full well they had intentions to make these changes, but they will lie to you to get you here, and screw you later.

I personally would not wish this company on Satan. On my way out myself and honestly, I'm really on my way out of trucking. I've had it up to here with this gangster, crooked, lie-cheat-steal industry where the government and the carriers control everything and we are paid pennies. I just wanted to post this to warn potential drivers about this company. It's so bad they had to hire a guy to the company JUST FOR driver retention. That's how badly they are hemorrhaging drivers right now.

I do not like to seem like a job hopper or a complainer, but this is a horrible company and I certainly would not recommend them until they make some serious changes. They can start by honoring what they tell new hires.

 

...sounds about right. Started selling stuff on Ebay with my Brother, hope it works out. I would really hate to have to get back in a truck and deal with this corrupt industry again. Unbelievable.

 

Why was this moved to this area of the forums? Do the Admins here have ties to the companies? Why aren't the good reviews under Arnold Trans moved here as well? It says Good AND bad, but when I go to the Arnold area, only good review posts are there. I figured it was only a matter of time before they started paying you guys off.
