I'll be finishing up CDL School this week and I have 3 pre hires. Companies are Maverick, Boyd and McElroy Trucking. Anybody have any comments on these companies? I have done my research on all three just want to find out from some possible drivers.
Thanks in advance.![]()

You should go with maverick Because they trainers that I have talked to sound like they have a over all general interest in helping new drivers. Plus there equipment is top notch.

I can only speak for maverick since it's the company I work at currently. I enjoy my job and the benefits. New equipment, newer trucks, and higher standards for training. I have no experience with Boyd or McElroy although I have talked to their drivers. As with any company it's 50/50 from their drivers. You live in a decent frieght lane for a career with Maverick. I, also, know that there is a dedicated account out of Alabama so you should inquire about that too. Hope this helps.

I just posted this on another thread so i'll copy and paste it here
I just started with maverick as my first trucking job, went solo in January. I am in the glass division and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this company and the work. You will hear from a lot of people at maverick who have been around working for other companies how maverick is the best they have worked for. The company and the pay have far exceeded my expectations for being fresh out of school. I can be home every two weeks, sometimes I am, sometimes I choose to stay out five, either way I make good money, more if I stay out. Gimme your name and I will hook you up with my recruiter, she told it absolutely straight with no promises other than what it is. She will give you all the details so you can get an idea what the company is about.
