Yall have great points. Yes the truck is being towed to cat in the 8am. I have 2 trucks in my flatbed business so I had the other truck come and deliver my load for me. I am taking a big hit on all the downtime but I wont sink. Ready to get back up and start rolling again thats for sure

It is a tough spot to be in, especially when you are only a 2 truck operation and half your fleet is down but the payments keep coming.

I think at this juncture your only option is to have CAT do the full overhaul on the truck.

Once they have overhauled it, they own it. Which means it starts jacking up on you again, you can drag it back to them and beat them over the head with it until they make it right.

Short cuts are going to cost you in the long run here, you have committed yourself to this truck because you still owe a sizable chunk of change towards it.

Being a 2 truck operation this piece of equipment is critical to your business, so I say don't cut corners here. You don't need the headaches now, and it may cost more upfront, but in the end you will be better off.

It will be done on monday. I am having them turn it up from 435 to 500hp hope that will give it some pep. I have heard that should help the mpg also. I have a load going to Nc mon so we shall see

So this truck should be up and running for a few weeks now. How is it working?

The truck is running better than it ever has..knock on wood... def feels like it has way more power up the hills. Had a week and half with smooth running hope it continues. Now just have to pay the tag and all the expense for the yr!!

I like this idea. Maybe the manufacturer's and the govt would wise up if it hits their pocket book.
