You drivers do realize that long haul trucking is seasonal and that miles fluctuate widely week to week, month to month, quarter to quarter and year to year? Unless you have a dedicated route you can easily have one month of 12,000 miles, another of 7,000 followed by another that is 9,000. Roehl has always had a reputation for weak miles, but if your household is based on a need for over 2500 miles a week you are going to find that trucking never supports you the way you want. I have been in this industry almost 10 years now and my advice is to budget for 1800-2000 miles a week. You should then consider everything above that gravy that you can put in the bank. There are just too many variables that will eat up hours to allow for consistently running 3000 miles a week, or more.

I started at .40 with 27 years experience and was told I could move up the pay scale real fast. Not true I called payroll and was told I came in experienced and was stuck at .40 for a year. I was at 60% on the percentile ranking which should have put me at 60% of top pay. I landed a sweet job making .50 cpm plus a hourly wage for all on duty time and insurance is paid by the company.
