I have a interview tomorrow with McLane for the driver helper position, I was told it's basically training to eventually (6-9 months) become a full time driver. Is this true? & how's the pay?

Run away making 32 a hour with what 3 hours of sleep a week I call BS I worked for mclane that is the worst outfit in the food industry, if your into food service look up Martin brower, sysco, unfi.... If you like back breaking running the ramp 16-20 stops a day dealing with rude managment then mclane is the outfit For you lol.

If you complain any little complaint at mclane they will find a way to fire you.

That's how I'm feeling about it, they told me 36-40k as a driver helper & after I become a driver I'll start at 60k+ a year. They said it takes about average 9 months to become a driver. It pays off in the long run.

    Jon,

Are you talking about McClane in Burlington? My son-in-law works there. He's a driver but started out as a helper. Helpers start at around $15 an hour and can become drivers if they want to. My son-in-law says some drivers there make up to $100,000 a year and the helpers do well too. You can work 3, 4 or 5 days a week there and you bid on your routes. The driver and helper unload a 53 ft trailer. All night work and lots of NYC. If you're not afraid of hard work the money is there.

Lmfao 100,000 a year if that was the case everyone would be working there. Trust me i am ex mclane driver on top of the senority list you in the bottom of that list will be working a formula based pay depending where your at in the senority list also will depend on how good of runs you will have so stop the BS who are you trying to impress with your lies unless your a recruiter? They are always hiring there's a good reason why....
