They "unpin" the trailer axles because they are steerable via a remote control.

    Pipe 40 Thanks this.

Your only safe because it's not a Prostar!
I likes the 9 series trucks I drove and a 14L pre EGR Detroit in a 770 is a slice of heaven.

In states like Colorado, your tiller man cannot be your rear escort. So, you are supposed to have 3 pilot cars per truck when the truck has to be unpinned for the rear steering. Some states require your tiller man to have a CDL. That weigh station in Lamar,Co is tricky to get into. You have to cross the scale. Getting the trailer wheels to cross the scale without unpinning is tricky, but doable.

On 287 in Eads, there's a turn where you go downhill, and right underneath an overpass and then uphill. There's a curb with signs separating the northbound and southbound lanes, and jersey walls on either shoulder. Tight, but doable.

BTW, I was in Baytown a few days ago at the TA and I saw a 3 axle Bennett Rgn with tarps and dunnage. Bet it's Carl's trailer. I'd wager that Bennett has a yard somewheres close, but I don't know where. I hope they get his trailer before someone steals his gear off of it. Ol Carl has an uphill battle. He shouldn't have to worry about his rig being stripped.

Apparently they needed more axles for Colorado, this the cranes etc. Spoke to one of their guys.
    They routed us, from junction.........
83,87,306,67,87,163,fm1963, 208,20,208,180,fm1611,84,331,289,27,335,60,171,70,83. Then 83 to 70. And that was just from Junction, TX.
We have remote unlock, so it's easier, but some were still a pia.

Sitting in Belle Plain, IA. Waiting for a train to get across the highway that has been here for one hour and forty five minutes now. I hate trains!

So, they're running you guys through Brians Corner. We went the same from Junction through Dumas and Boise City. I'd rather run your route, because you have to do a 3 point turn to get on 70 from 59 or if you run up 287, getting off at exit 376 is tight. Then again, I am having extremely bad luck with tiller men.

I finally got my truck back about an hour ago, new transmission, new tires, new u joints, feels like a new truck under me.

Now I'm having to learn how to drive the thing all over again. The old trans was so sloppy, and the old clutch was about toast, the new stuff is so tight I am having one heck of a time adjusting.

Well everybody, I'm still alive and kicking.
First to everybody that sent Pm's and msgs. here on the board. Thank you all very much for your concern..
Yes the trl. was parked at the T/A. in Baytown and we are back here now...All my stuff was still there thank goodness.
    So here is what happened.
Sat. we got around and I took my wife to the mall on the west end of town..
I started hding back to Baytown, and got pains in my chest and my left arm was kinda having muscle spasms.
So I go to the Loves off of 610. Take another blood pressure pill and a couple of Tynenol.. No asprin.
Now I'm thinking that I'm having another angina. sp? attack. had this happen about 10 years ago. Also sweating way bad. Even with my face in the fan I'm still sweating bad.
Things kinda let up a little and I'm thinking ok this will pan out. Well 3 hours go by and it's not getting any better.
Now I allready wrote a note and had it on the dash about my wife's name and her location and mobile number. Just in case something really bad happened.

So I think I'm not leaving my trk. at the Loves, So I drive it to the yard. It's about 2 miles down the road on the right.
I get there and call 911..
Yep having a heart attack. The EMS crew take me to Hermann Memorial here in Houston.
Get rushed into the E.R. room and then off to the Cat lab..
I told them about my wife and they were able to get ahold of her.
So I'm in surgey. I could feel the hose they run up your artery.. Wierd feeling..
Oh and do not move while they are doing this, can cause issues..
So I did end up with one stint in what they call the widow maker artery..

The people at the hospital all were very helpfull and kind. They let my wife stay right in the room with me the whole time.
From what I found out these people are one of the top heart hospitals in the south..
Now I'm going to hate to see the bill,as we like alot of other people in the U.S. are kinda lacking in insurance.
But will cross that issue when it comes.

Again everyone thanks for the worry and wishes
