It doesn't matter how many years experience you have they are hiring drivers straight out of school you will start at the bottom and take the left over runs and have to fight with other drivers that where ahead of you, you could possibly make 50-55,000 truth be told. The only drivers making 70-80 grand is the top 15 drivers. Trucsugma try it out that is the only way you will find out get back to me with some details.

Asiantrucka stop it with your childish nonsense lets be grown adults here this thread states mclane food service not cement and it is not titled dump truck. For someone that knows someone that works there your sure as hell defending that crappy company for some reason? I have full hands on experience with that company, please spare me your lame assumptions. Your not going to win something you know nothing about.

I actually work there. We do hire new grads but its called a "grow your own" . It's for guys that worked in the warehouse for at least a yr. They can than sign up on a wait list to be approved for the driver trainee position, after they get their cdl they can train with a driver and work on the yard until they get their miles and yard time. I don't know how many miles they have to drive with their trainer or how many hours they work in the yard but it takes a while. They don't just hire new grads where I work at. First of all it's not that easy to maneuver a tractor trailer around a restaurant Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, KFC, etc. And second of the physical part of the job, loading your hand truck (dolly) and going up and down the ramp is not for everybody. A lot of guys that come in saying oh yeah they can do it that never worked a physical job like that before will quit. So that is why they like to hire other foodservice guys or a guy from their warehouse. Again LMAO @ house of pain saying that he was on top of the seniority list and nobody fights for a route, we bid every six months for a different route. Yeah some routes are easier than others some routes pay more. We are paid by miles, cases, and stops. I was working five days working 55 to almost my 60 hrs. Now I work 4 days on this route working 38-40 hours. There are guys here that wants to be on the extraboard that has been here for awhile. They have the option of picking up a route but they want to run the board so that way they can make more money. I only work 4 days but there is always something to do if I want to. People go on vacation, get hurt, call off, etc. and no I'm not a recruiter like I said I'm not making up no bs. It's hard work, but I'm use to it. Lol actually it's easy work to me. Everyone is different. What dc number was you out of house of pain? LMAO yeah you was on top of the seniority list I guess you are in your 60's huh. Im not knocking on anybody's line of work or anything do what you got to do to put food on the table. Guys in the warehouse can make up to 50k or more if they wanted to. top pay for warehouse is over $19.00 after two yrs and there is always over time. You think we get paid what warehouse gets paid? come on house of pain. Smh. Quit trolling.

I would say talk to HR and see if you can talk to the transportation manager. My DC is the biggest one we service the most restaurants. We do 1,2, and 3 day routes. 3 day routes are rare. I heard the dc in Colorado have a 5 day route going pretty far I don't know how much their pay rate is I know each DC works a little differently. I know when I went to help in Memphis when guys are on call they get $50 and where I work at we did not until recently.

It's going to be tough when you start out. You will be on the extraboard. You will not have a route until one will come up. They will put you on call, pick up drivers that are out of hours, it's stressful when you have a family. There is always work. you will make over 45k our DC avg. over 74k. But I don't know if it will be worth it to you. basically throw your life away for the first yr because you won't have one until you get a route.

Lol. Money was good because I worked all the time. Everyday I wanted to quit because I have 3 young kids and a wife that worked full time. And my managers worked me like a dog. And rude customers when you showed up late because you are filling someone else's route. You get lost or because the other guy called off and you start your route 3 hours later. A lot of bs but I guess you got to start off some where.

So your stating the job sucks? You wanting to quit doesn't state the obvious? So for the sake of arguing with your irrelevant answers to my quotes with out me asking any question just stating the facts you state that working at mclane is great yet you wanted to quit because the work was hard? Basically you took my story and flipped it around to do what raise your post count and try to find in some humor since your lmfao alone that you would try to justify my intelegence? I worked out of baldwinsville NY I was senior driver out of Newburgh ny new account depot doing all NYC runs the reason behind this was to save the Walgreens account in the city since Mcalne was on the verge of losing it and needed experience drivers that knows how to drive around the city with a pup or 48fter, the new drivers out of Syracuse and baldwinsville where all straight out of driving school with 6 months experience that means deliveries where not beign made on schedule, drivers getting lost, getting into accidents, arguing with store managers because they never dealt with customers in the city. Mclane advertises on the radio 7,000 sign on bonus and benifits from day one why do you think they do this? Because they cannot keep any drivers or at least experience drivers. How about a driver that jack knifed a trailer still working there? How about a driver that hit two bridges still working there? How about them hiring convicted felons is that a sign of a good company? My account was all 7.11, chunkie cheeses,Walgreens and Duane Reede I ran 16-21 stops a day my pay scale is formula consisting pieces stop and hour, paid every two weeks I roughly made about 1600 every two weeks your telling me with this pay scale your making above 60 a year your a idiot if you think that would be the case. Make your mind up either you like the job or hate it to me that sounds like a case of bipolar/mania, not saying you are bipolar maybe your growing signs of it since working at mclanes food distributors. The only reason why I gave these lames a shot was because they promised a lot and deliverd nothing that is their moral and work ethics to thier employees and customers. Now I have a awesome job getting paid the same home every night and not touching one thing but my cup of coffee. lmfao @ that.
