My first day of driving was in May, 2010 in SD. There was construction for miles and miles and I was watching for the speed limit to drop to 45 mph from 60 mph, but it never did. I got stopped in the construction zone once I got into SD. The weigh scale is inside the rest stop. I was pulling a tanker and was not overweight, but I missed seeing the weigh scale because I was watching all the construction signs, which were all over the place. The Rand McNally Truckers atlas on the MN page did not show a weigh scale at the state line, as I had checked it as part of my pretrip plan!!!! The map shows part of SD, but does not show the scale......that really gripes me....really does. :biggrin_25516: If you are going to show a portion of a border state on the map, you ought to show the scales that are in that portion of the border state.

Along with missing the weigh scale, I had my log book current for the day I was driving, but I did not have the prior 7 days logged as off duty, as I just did not think about it, being a newbie. :biggrin_25516: I learned a lot that day, really did....can you say rookie!!!

Anyway, I get a ticket for both items, but no fine. It is on my record with the company I was driving for, and it is on their record with ??? DAC??? FMSCA??? I can't recall where I saw it. Probably CSA on the FMSCA web site. Right?

I luv those SD DOT officers....no fine for two tickets on my first day of driving....how sweet is that!!!

Since it has been over 3 years, I seem to recall the points are supposed to decrease. My question is, have my points gone down to zero?

The reason it is important to me now, is that I am applying to a national company, Doyle Sims, that uses DAC, so I would like to know what is on my record before I get called in for an interview.

    Thanks for any help.

It's four years old. I wouldn't worry about it.

You'll be okay. Just answer the questions truthfully on the application. Watch closely how the questions are worded. All points should be gone.

hope you figured it out by now. you have to be on the appropriate state map to see the scales. they don't show bordering states even though a portion is on the same page.

there are apps also that you can download onto your phone., that will show scales and checkpoints that are being used. the atlas only shows scales. and some haven't been used for a LONG time. and since oklahoma just built 8 new scales. you'll need the latest atlas. or wait till california has there brand new port open.

I am thinking that there were no points to worry about back then other than speeding tickets or accidents.regardless,so much time has passed that your record is now clean.
