missjhawk, paul_4lp, 70s_driver and 2 others Thank this. -
You aren't overweight on your steers. Most companies tell you 12K on your steers because that 12 + 34 + 34 = 80. It trucker math for dummies.
Look at at your steer tire see what it rated. Multiply by 2. That's what your are legal. More than likely you are legal up to 12,350 lbs. Besides you will burn off 100 lbs in less than 100 miles.
Oh oh and always scale when you are that heavy. Especially if you are reimbursed.missjhawk Thanks this. -

I don't understand why they gave her a ticket. The steer axle is only 100 over and the others are good.
What does it say on the ticket the weights are.? -
I am not aware of allowance for apu , but all things aside we are only talking 100lb here . Your gross is fine. Where is the fifth wheel set ? I imagine you need to adjust it just one hole and you'll be at 12000 lb. Just for your info, fuel weighs 8lb a gallon, so in a perfect world by the time you drive approx 100miles it would be legal anyway. No guarantee but close. I would just roll on without too much worry but try the slider one hole my friend.

If any driver doesn't have the skills to read a road map then maybe they shouldn't be in a truck. That's the most simplest thing to do.
My question was pretty simple....does company require you to go the way they want. Don't let you map out your own routes? -
