Seems to me, the debut of the Western Star 5700 is being held back in order to combine it with the opening of the Transformers movie. Do prospective Western Star buyers care at all about a tie in with a kids movie???

Isn't the truck in the transformers movie a Marmom cabover anyway?

The new Optimus looks cool. On another note down by where I live there's a guy selling a Pete stretched cabover. Looks nice. It's around hammonton NJ in rt. 30.

If you google the WS 5700 you will find only pics from the truck show they brought the Transformer display truck too.

If you can get past the bling, it is not a bad looking truck. Kinda like looking at a crappy house that needs paint. This may make me wait to see what it looks like in real life. The web sites says fall of 2014 for this truck.

The new truck will be available in March or April of next year. Dealers will start to get information on the truck in September at the press introduction. Detroit Power only. The movie is just a great way to introduce the truck and I'm sure Daimler paid to have it included. This is not your father's Western Star.

Thats one SWEET ride! I would actually take on a note to get that as a glider.

I was a kid when Transformers were hot. They will always interest me. Luckily my son also digs them. I think I will get the 4900SB painted to match Optimus once I see the movie.
