    Well where to begin... lol

Ok, I started working for JBH about 4.5 yrs ago. was a company driver for about 3 months then went into the Lease Purchase Program and believe it or not, Actually Completed it. Yes I did it.(and it wasn't easy), but only 100 drivers have ever finished the program. But enough of that

When i finished that program i stayed Leased to JBH and did the precentage option. Well it was good for the first 9 months, then they starting sending me loads that where pay .85 cpm per mile, which I refused. Heck a milage driver got more than that.

So last month i switched back over to milage pay. we are currently getting .90 cpm for all miles(ld/mt) and a fuel surcharge of .37cpm. Of course thats well below what it should be and JBH being so gracious, that they sent out a OBC Msg yesterday, stating that "with fuel prices so high we are going to give an extra .04 cpm" add to our fuel surcharge. How big of them.

Well I am currently sitting in Jeffersonville, Oh at the T/A and have been here since 0900 EDT 04-19-08. No layover pay as JBH doesn't pay Layover on the weekends.

I am supposed to be home tomorrow for two days off. Was offered a load going to belvidere, Il for 04-21-08 # 0900, Turned it down and now I'm waiting again. When asked if I was gonna get a load heading towards the house, I was Told "When the load planners get the freight, you will be dispatched".

Load Planners.... these ae the folks that need at least 7 days so they can get you a load home and yet thses same folks don't seem to be able to read a map. lol Belvidere, il is over 450 miles north of my home.

So I asked if i could DH home, they said yes, but you can't buy any fuel, we will have to shut off your fuel. Now I own the truck and JBH pays for the fuel, it is deducted from my settlements and is deducted from my account within minutes me finishing getting Fuel. they never had a problem with me getting fuel and going home when I was a percentage Driver... Hmmm Strange.

So Here I Sit with no Fuel, No Load, Very Litte Money and very little patience left. lol

I told the Night FM, that I would have to look somewhere else to lease on since hometime and miles are not important to JBH. His response was so your quitting? I said No, I am just going to start looking around, I do have that right.

JBH has some very sneaky tactics that they will employ to keep you from leaving.

They will cut off your fuel and leave you stranded, They will freeze your escrow funds(which they have the right to), except that if you have what is called a General Fund(kind of a savings fund) they will freeze it also.

Now the general fund is money that you have already earned. It is taken out of you Net pay and placed in an accout for your use at anytime for whatever yoou want. It is not an escrow fund of any type and they CAN NOT FREEZE IT!

Now anyone who is thinking of going to work for JBH, Please, Please reconsider and I you are currently working for them and Like it there. More power to you, but whatever DO NOT, I say again DO NOT go into to the Lease Purchase Proram. All you will be doing is starving yourself and making more money for JBH. an dactually you are sub-leasing that truck, as JBH doesn't Own them, they lease them from freightliner.

I could go into more detail on some of the stunts that they are pulling on the lease purchase drivers, but If you want that scoop ask and I'll tell you.

Sounds like Hunt. There isn't a decent fleece purchase program out there. Common sense goes a long way when looking at them.
If they are rushing you to get you to sign....walk away!

if you are an owner operator leased to them, from what you said it sounds like they are breaking some laws, freezing monies in any account except the escrow account isn't right that is your money, it sounds like forced dispatch which is illlegal as you are not a company driver, I would suggest you join and talk with OOIDA about this, they have taken several companies to court over theses very same issues and won.

Well i know all about the escrows not being alble to be frozen. As for forced dispatch, we are not forced to accept and have a obc msg that we send to refuse loads. As far as forced dispatch beng Illegal with owner operators, I wouldn't know.

And yes i am a member of OOIDA alreay.

:biggrin_1square1: Well driver let me start by saying i understand ur pain i to am leased to jb in there lease program just got my trk in feb. and man this was a big mistake i only cam back to them cause i was in there lease program in 2004 and i really didnt do to bad i never understood how u are selling some one a trk and at the same time you want to trade the trk in never got that well im deciding to end the lease cause im not getting any miles every week i get less than 2000 miles and im out 3 weeks at a time and this thing with the pay is another thing they pay IC .90 a mile and LP .85 u can get .90 but u cant refuse loads so that means if they want u to play day cab u have to or risk losing .05 and the fuel surcharge how do you put a cap on fuel surcharge when the fuel is steady rising every week theres a .10 to .11 difference with jb and other major carriers the way they do business its only for jb to profit i hear of more drivers losing trks here and it really shouldnt be like that when leased to a company that claims to be one of the major carries so just like u im sitting in Indy since friday night they sent me a 220 mile load refused it so all weekend ive been summiting applications looking for another job anyone considering Jb for employment unless for got alot of money in the bank and you just out here trucking to past time jb is not the place for you

I understand the feeling about this all ... I did a "Fleece Program" with Davis outta Missoula, MT .... lost money .... way to much money .... then they are stealing my escrow money for bogus reason .... which I have an attorney dealing with that part

They were booking cheap freight .... and I mean cheap freight .... most of the L/P guys that I spoke with before I left were over $5000 in the hole because of it .... most of the freight they did get had no fuel charges on it either

I went back to company driver with another outfit ... much better .... getting better miles .... better pay .... the place that I am with now wont take any freight under $1.60/mile .... and they charge as of the 20th .... 59 cents per mile for FSC .... that is the government recommended charge .... if JB Hunt is only paying you .37 then they are making money on that also along with the freight bill

There is no program out there that is good for a driver with these fleece programs .... stay away from anyone offering them .... I will run someone else truck and make money rather than go bankrupt so that some paper pusher can keep is luxury house

Ok. It's good you're getting the warning out to others so they don't run into the same trouble. Kudo's for that.
