Just a tip. There are over 150 trainers at PTL. And they are in & out every 2.5 weeks or so getting a new student driver. It's hard to know them all & only Kevin & Monty do. Just do a quick meet n greet with who is there & go with who takes you. The choice ultimately falls to the trainer who they take. After they select you remember they are your boss for the next 6000 miles & they are responsible for you. Do as your told, learn all you can, it'll be over with in no time. Then it's on to Phase 2.
Headed to orientation this weekend.

I agree just like Monty will tell you suck it up for about two weeks
-
With that said, for those of you already on board with them, I wish you all the best. I just won't be there. -
You have to do what is best for you. Your red flags may be nothing to another. It's all part of the package of working for any trucking company. But best of luck to you all the same.

well I completed day 1 of orientation today.... breakfast starts at 6 and ptl picks you up at 645, u get to headquarters around 7, it involved getting papers/driver handbook, pee test, and just filling out paperwork/quizzes(very easy), taking your picture for badges, picking the areas where you want to go, going over driver logs/QUALCOMM and transflo.... very easy day, it seemed like every couple hours you got a 10 minute break and at around noon you got a 30 minute lunch(today was meatloaf and it was pretty good) the buffet down the street was also pretty good. no complaints at all.... everybody was helpful with whatevever questions that you had, I knew coming into training that it might not be comfortable especially driving with a trainer/trainee but im going to make the best of it and maybe ill get lucky and have good people around me............ I also did not know that they had that many trainers

Just sayin'
EDIT: Now, if you're driving for PTL and you're doing well over there, more power to you. I'm just not willing to take that kind of risk based on all of the evidence presented. Plus, given the FMCSA data, I'd rather not volunteer to have a bullseye painted on me by DOT because of who I work for.Last edited: Jun 26, 2014

just letting you know that all those reports were prior to ptl being a employee owned company..... most of them were 4+ years ago
