Really, I wasn't being too lazy .....I was just busy checking on the boy hugging on my daughter on the front stoop! .....So I guess I was being nosey!:biggrin_2556: But for a good reason! Actually he's a good kid. He went to to the community college while he was still in high school. He graduated from high school one month and had an Associates Degree the next month. He works nights at UPS, gets off of work and goes to school. I just found out that he lost one of his scholarships because he failed German. So in order to pay for his books he has taken on another job building fences .....and is selling plasma. :biggrin_2557: It shouldn't be so hard for kids to get an education. He is determined to pay as he goes along and doesn't want to graduate with thousands of dollars of debt.

I don't think the poor kid has the energy left to hug Number One Daughter very much!:yes2557:

OMG, honeybdger, are you heading to Sunbury, PA with your load from Marshalltown? That was one of the preplans given to George, but he drops near St. Louis, MO tonight about 10 and will soon run outnof hours. Not likely he could have made that pick up. Guess dispatch figured it out since they reassigned him with a different run. Interesting, huh? Have a good night!

You guys keep me amused!!! HTQ, sounds like he's a good, dependable guy, but I'd be keeping an eye out too. After all, you know if the King were there, he'd probably have the hawk eye on them!! You know, though, her boyfriend may be having a rough go of it to cover tuition, but the responsibility will help him so much more than a scholarship in the long run. Youth today are often catered to too much and expect the easy road to always be there for them. A few bumps in the road will toughen them up and bring maturity better than smooth sailing.

JungHo, nope, my load finals in Dayton, OH at Sugar Creek Packing. I've been to that place in Sunbury though. It's Weis Market Meats or something like that. A bit of a headache to get to but it's not the worst we get by any means. I tried to skirt out of this Dayton run, but the planners have had me planned up for a week solid leading up to HT. The Logansport run will put me a little farther out from home and a little earlier than I want to be there so I will see if my DM can hook me up with some swaps next week or to pull something out of Auburndale and have it swapped off closer to home.

The bobcat is bigger and not nearly so tame anymore.....but he does like living in my woods.....I think he has a hankering for the neighbors goats. He also knows that I'm not going to get a shotgun after him....I thought he was a nice kitty. So far this year my dogs have brought me two groundhogs, and then one magically appeared at the end of my sidewalk one morning. Do bobcats do the same thing as house cats? Bring you the gift of a dead critter. That's the only thing I could think of .....so I guess he is still my friend.

Did I ever tell you about the baby skunk I found? Now that was a BIG mistake......:biggrin_25521:

Trucks hauling temperature sensitive loads through Pennsylvania will see an increase of inspections this summer as the state’s agriculture department’s Bureau of Food Safety partners with law officials to step-up enforcement.
Known as Code R.E.D (Refrigerated Enforcement Detail), the effort started when the bureau noticed more and more truckers compromising the temperature of their perishable cargo to to save on fuel, according to Lydia Johnson, director of the food safety bureau.
“The refer units are usually powered by diesel,” Johnson said. “To save money, some truckers started turning off the units.”
Officials recently stopped a driver hauling a mix of meat and fresh produce. The temperature in the trailer was at 63 degrees Fahrenheit.
“There was chicken blood dripping on fresh produce,” Johnson said. “The entire contents of the truck was disposed of while (our people) watched.”
The driver of the truck was issued several citations by police, but the Food Safety Bureau didn’t hand out any fines, Johnson said.
“We can write a non-traffic citation,” she said, “but our fines are not that significant. We think the expense of having to pay for the load that was disposed of is a more effective fine.”
Last year the Pennsylvania officials pulled over 396 trucks, 10 of which had unsafe food conditions. According to state police records, seven of the trucks had unsanitary cargo areas, and three where hauling food at unsafe temperatures.
