Return to ACT (American Central Transport)

I'm in Lawton delivering. . There are 3 ACT trucks waiting outside the gate. . One was leaving the dock as I was backing in.

I'm thinking I'll be satisfied with my 2,800 miles this week. my confidence level is not high with getting a load out of here today.

Although my day is better than the ACT driver whose truck I saw on a hook leaving here. .I didn't get a chance to ask why.

Morning crew sent some bs load picking up Monday afternoon in Dallas and delivering N Mt Vernon IN Wednesday. . Before I could turn it down (30 seconds) they assigned it to me. .Had to say No.. Not taking it twice and call. Anyway it worked out. . So add 435 miles to my week.

Btw.. The ACT truck I saw on a wrecker. . Another ACT truck backed into him. . Broke his hood in half etc.. The driver that hit him got routed back to KC.. That's not good.

 

Well..I made it to kc..T called my load at the yard. .

While enroute I received a pre plan. .AGC from Olathe to some place in Indiana. .I had to think about it. . Go thru my notes til I finally found it. .I had pulled this load before. . It's broken glass and extremely heavy. .lost my butt on it..

said thanks but no thanks. I'll wait for a better load.

felt bad but business is business. . Why take a load that will cost you money.

10 seconds later. .I received a pre plan from kc to st bernard.. will this work? Instead of stopping I called ACT.. While on hold. .ACT called me. .

It was John asking if I was ok with the load?. .yes sir.. Thank you! He said. . No sir. . Thank you! I appreciate you.

He's a good man (John) heaven forbid I should ever lose Mark. . But if so, I hope I get John. I haven't been happy at very many places longer than 6 months. .seems that grass is always greener. . I've finally learned to look at the grass I'm standing on. . It's pretty green too!

Btw..lmao..I said a few months ago that I was down sizing everything. .since then it seems I've been doing nothing but buying things.

I made a cash offer on a 2 bed 2 bath house last week. .I handed them a cashiers check today. . I'm sitting in my new living room. . Listening to the washer and dryer run as I do laundry. . Guess next weekend will be spent moving furniture. .ugh. At least there's no payments. .

 

Well that's gonna blow..I liked having John on the weekends. . But I'm sure he'll like the driving vs sitting at a computer. .
