Ethos, hope you don't mind me asking, but why are you looking to leave Schneider?

Idle percentage allowance varies by region and time of year. The southern terminals get a higher "allowance" in the summer than the northern get, and vice versa in the winter. It plays a part of the overall monthly bonus but not the entire thing. With the driving time and the blower time not included in the overidle, as long as you shut off the truck when you are not in it then the idle time is attainable for most.

Well Dallas is not a good area for Bulk freight with Schneider. We just simply don't have the customer base up there. There are no plans to grow that market either. So the future possibility of the same money with more hometime is bleak to say the least. Since I hate wasting time it only seems right to start my clock with a company that can provide me with the freight lanes I want. Also Even though I am well paid, I am still under paid compared to other companies. I have tried to get Schneider to better compete with them and they have chose not to do do. So a lot this point depends on hometime and making me feel that I am worth it and compensated accordingly.

What freight lanes do you want and would you want local, regional, or system work? I myself am a system driver Canada included. 145k miles 2013. Home every 2 weeks by choice.

Mainly a company with lots of customers around DFW. That way I could be home more just because a lot of loads would go through there. With Schneider, if I lived in Houston I would be home more, again because of the amount of customers. I don't want local and I don't need a set schedule per say, just more home time in general.

Why not give the A&R FtWorth terminal a holler then and discuss regional? They (we) have a large freight base and the terminals based around large populations generally have good local/regional work with time thru the house during the week and most weekends off. Most of the drivers at this terminal seem happy when I breeze in and out. This time in the breeze died and I got "stuck" here. Did only 23 miles today yet made $220 in 8hrs. Tomorrow gonna do a local then breeze down to the Highlands terminal for a load twds the house. Not too shabby.

No HazMat nor tanker endorsement needed. TWIC and Passport are a plus.

Lilbit of new info, new load/unload pay raise starting 7/1. Depending on experience level can add up to $30 per load. Also, since the bonus structure was put into place, I've hit the full bonus every month. ($250)
