You need the adapter either Dearborn or Nexiq to hook your truck to the laptop. That will cost you about 900 bucks. Buy a longer cable for it while you are at it the one it comes with is too short and a real pain. You can buy insite from any Cummins dealer. If you just want to read codes buy Pocket Fleet it is inexpensive and very good. I have both on my laptop. If I think I know what the problem is and just want a quick code look Pocket Fleet is the way to go. Really fast. If I need to really start digging then insight is what I hook up.
If you look around you can find fully loaded laptops used for probably 4000 or so.
