Your probably right, sounds like solid logic. I retract my previous sujestion and replace it with load connected the uncouple dolly down far enough to get the hitch a good 5" above the ball. Dont know why but something about being hooked up bothers me, i know there designed to drive that way. Cant exsplain it but truck bobing up and down lifting and droping the trailer tounge aginst restraints.... that why i sujested dolly down. Ah well if i get one i will ask then. But hell give us a pic why dont ya

Once I get it on, if I get it on I'll definitely try and get a pic up. Its my personal truck and trailer that ill be putting on the companys equipment, so gotta find out if the price to haul it is right first. But, I should know sometime tomorrow if its going to happen
-
When you do get permission to haul it. Make out a BOL with the model and VIN#'s on it as if it was a regular load. This will keep you legal and also insured in the event of an accident. With out a BOL you could be detained for stealing it if push comes to shove by some over zelous cops. Been there done that.
If you get permission your company should tell you this but if not, CYA. It is a paper that could save you a lot. -

remember that wheels need to be chocked fore and aft to be legal too.
-
Yeah, I figured that was the case.... does each wheel need chocks? Or would chocking just the rear tires on the truck work and also the trailer..
-
All 4 on truck both on trailer. Stop forward and rear motion. In addition to other securement devices.
-
Ok, thanks for the heads up... I refreshed my memory from the fmcsa bible and it didnt mention chocks so I figured better have them in place
-
First I have ever heard of that, care to post a link to the regulation to back that up?
I haul wheeled and tracked machinery on a daily basis, used to haul Hum-V's and other military equipment on wheels, PU's and trailers, and have never chocked anything, and have never had a DOT cop tell me that they were needed.
