It is somewhat pointless without the picture. But what I believe he was getting at was even with an inordinate amount of favorable circumstances, you won't make much as a lease op.
And I would for the most part have to agree. -
I went up to Anderson last year. On day 3 of their orientation they wanted me to sign the lease...The other recruits were either on thorazine or were too broke to afford a bus ticket home. I packed my bags and came home on my own dime. They tried to leave me stranded there in Minnesota thinking I would be broke and desperate. And the hilarious part is a year later Sammons rejected me because I refused to do lease deals with National, Anderson and CRST. So if a trucking company dictates that YOU ARE going to work for them you are OBLIGATED to do so? Is this how it works now? Grinning to myself, I'm getting too old for this.
-
Well Sammons has no company trks.. Yes they do lease purchase and hire O/O's
Again NO company trks. -
I highly recommend Melton. As I said in another post, if I had to go back to being a company driver and they would rehire me, I would go back there in a heart beat. Melton is definitely not for lazy folks and they do tarp "almost" everything but think about the fact every time you tarp, that's $40 more to your check each week each time you do it. My lowest check was a little over $800 net but I have banked a few $1,100 but average around $1,000. I did have a kick arse DM too though. But like I said, to make that kind of money at Melton, you're gonna work your ##### off for it. Dont know anything about ATS and Lone Star, well, I've heard some bad rumors floating around about them but to me, they are unconfirmed rumors so I can't judge by that. I like flatbed but that oversize stuff tends to be more of a PITA than its worth but I hear they make a good coin doing it.Lucar Thanks this.

Can someone give an example of the lease breakdown as far as expenses? Im failing to see were theirs no money in this.. Now I do understand the cheap freight, sitting you Blaa Blaa Blaa.. But if youve done this program, give us the breakdown on your Profit and cost sheet. They say they avg. 1.80 for all miles.. Ok 1.45 lets say, So I need to someome to break the cost per mile down from 1.45 loaded and MT.. Surely its not costing over 1.00 a mile to run just a truck?
-
My fixed costs are $600 per week. Add in 11.5 cents per dispatched mile for maint acct and tire/oil/brake/emission program. I am on % not mileage so I can't comment to that. My take home last month was $9100. Keep in mind taxes come out of that amount.

I applied got accepted, and set up for orientation.......FUN BEGINS........told to pick up rental car, then pick up two other drivers along the way.......talk to other drivers .....ok......go to get car, place closed.......call contact....... STARTS SCREAMING AT ME, WHY ARE YOU LATE @#$%%^ is what he says to me , I explain, I was told anytime after 1000 a.m.,
I show up for car at 1230 and place is closed, call to figure it out and, I'm the A!@@#$%^&........... I'm not working for you yet and, you're yelling and cursing me out?????
KEEP YOUR JOB, KEEP YOUR B.S. AND OH YEAH,.......F234 Y23!!!!!!!!!! NOT EVEN DRIVING FOR YOU YET AND YOURE GONNA ACT LIKE A STREET CORNER PUNK????
KEEP YOUR JOB ATS!!!!!! -
Well you were told something that was wrong, but you say you were not even driving for ATS yet that where you were wrong at ATS you work for yourself and you need to run your OWN business here those of us who do do well, those that let ATS pull them arround by a nose ring well just stay working where you are you will get run over here
Rooster1291979 Thanks this. -
No I think what he was explaining was he's just in the starting process getting the rental car to come to orientation and they're cursing him out already if I was his position I would've told the company where to go pound sand too... I look at it this way if they're already going to cuss you out when you're just starting what what's going to come on down the road first impression is a lasting impression.
