Get a dash cam or use a smart phone with an app to function as one. Scam or no scam, without such evidence there is not much you can do other than be better prepared next time and keep a much greater following distance. I wish you well.

i've got the smart phone with an app function. need to figure out where to mount it.

mounting in the dash not a good idea. the sun beating through the windshield makes the device REALLY hot. i've got a usb snake like fan. but it not lasting long. and i can't seem to find replacements on google.

I had a safety director ask me a question once,"What would you do if the vehicle in front of you suddenly hit the brakes'?.I said,I would just look at the tail lights and then look over said vehicle to see why he hit the brakes,Then I would decide if I "had an out" or if I needed to slow down but the act of said vehicle hitting the brakes wont matter that much....because I would not be that close to it...

Watch out using a smartphone for that, unless you stop and close the app down every couple hours. I was using a spare phone that I had as one before I bought mine, and the app actually "burned" itself onto the screen after a couple months. Now, no matter what I'm doing on the phone, the parts of that app that didn't change much (like the date/time, controls, etc) are permanently set on the screen, blocking everything else. And the heat from it being up on the dash warped the phone itself, too. You're better off getting a dedicated dash cam.

    TomOfTx Thanks this.

Check your DAC. If it shows up write DAC they are a independent company not a government company. Say you were victim of identity fraud and you wish to no longer have your personal info handed out. Poof no more DAC.

I agree with cranky yankee. A dash cam would have been all the officer and your company needed to see you were not the cause of the accident.. As far as your future, it depends on your companies insurance. They seem to make the calls today. Good luck......

They say that until they find out its a rearend accident and then no go. I had a rearend accident in my personal vehicle that I was not cited in 10 years ago and when I switched companies I had a heck of a time finding another one,had to work for an outlaw outfit until it fell of mvr.

If that's all you have on your driving record in the last 10 years you can find another job. If anyone was injured thats another story. You just will have to work for a chicken s### outfit for a few years.
Look at smaller companies not the mega carriers.
If you had only been driving for a few years you would be finished in trucking. As long as you have been driving you can overcome it.
