Well I have been out of a truck for 7 years, looks like I am going to make a come back. A little background, obtained my CDL in 2000 and was hired by Melton straight out of school. I was on my trainers truck (Spanky) for two weeks when he was asked how I was doing. He said I was doing great and he thought I could handle my own truck so we were sent to Lake Station to recover an abandoned truck . The truck was brand new and for bringing it back to the terminal for Melton they put me in it. I drove the truck for 9 months then decided to find a local job. I began pulling for a construction/asphalt company where I learned how to operated equipment and I did transport for them. They went bankrupt over the course of 6 months and I luckily found another job transporting construction equipment for a rental company. I did that for 6 years. So I got married and we bought a house and I wanted more money so I quit that company and went to work for another small company here in Dayton OH. I drover for them about six months local and I picked up some regionals if the regional guys had vacation time or I would pick up an OTR if the guy had to go home for something and take it to it's final destination. So I pulled in the yard one day and the cops were there and 3 passenger vans. I went into dispatch and was asked for my keys to my truck and to clean it out because all of the trucks were being repo'ed and the company was going down to just 10 trucks. I found another job quickly, but it was not a driving job. I became a field service technician for a local pump manufactuer here and worked there as of 3 weeks ago when I was terminated due to my job being eliminated. I have a Class A CDL and at my previous job I drove a 36' flatbed straight truck when I was not on the road. I traveled for the company all over North and South America so I do have a valid passport. I have a tanker endorsement on my license and will be obtaining my hazmat again soon. Does anyone have advise as what I need to do to get back into driving? I have been contacted by Bulkomatic about driving for them. My biggest concern is I want to be happy where I end up and I want my family to be happy. My wife is concerned about being a stay at home mom but never seeing her husband. Any comments are greatly appreciated.

Welcome, you just need to make some phone calls, one bad thing is a lot of jobs you've had.
