Yes, that was me. And yes, I'm doing pretty decent. I could do better, but I'm home a lot (once or twice a week, plus weekends). That being said, my wife doesn't need to work, all my bills get paid every month, and I still have extra money to feed my ham radio habit every month.

Existing O/Os are grandfathered and don't have to run EOBRs unless they have a logging violation or until FMCSA makes them mandatory. They're requiring EOBRs for all new drivers, LP and O/O. CSA scores are a big problem at Malone and they're getting pretty hardcore on logging. Anybody signing on better figure on running 100% legal or they won't last long.
SheepDog Thanks this. -
The requirement now for O/O's is that their truck must have an ECM so that they can do EBOR. All lease op's are also required. Those that have been here since before the requirement are like gregbo said. Grandfathered until they screw up.
On that note, they are now started to warn you about speeding. My DM says that eventually, they will start canceling contracts over it even if you don't get caught. They can track your speeds through the qualcomm and it goes against a database with speed limits. From the warnings I've gotten so far, it's pretty accurate LOL. -
I stand corrected on the eobr for O/Os. Heard that from another driver last week. Guess they couldn't get any O/Os to lease on so they dropped it. That Qualcomm crap is pretty scary. Better use that jake brake rolling down the hills.

Just wanted to invite some folks over. Freight rates are doin good and we have so much in-house freight that we have a lot of choices. Me and a buddy of mine who came over to American have been making good (usually over $2.50/mile) with some loads paying way more than expected. I know a couple of agents who have said that we could easily put on another 100 trucks and still have enough for everybody plus some. I like the way things are and just wantin to help some other flatbedders who might be struggling...
