Lol I hear ya I was going a bit quick and he blow by me like I was in reverse I thought for sure twice there was going to be a wreck one car had to jump in where he was as he cut him off and had to break due to another car that was changing lanes at the same time. I slide over to far right and slowed down quick I seen it coming just lucky it did not to many cars and no following distance it would have been one of those big pile ups.

This made World News tonight on ABC... Congrads to this Truck driver for standing up for himself... Happens all the time that these Cops thing they are above the law.
-
Well I feel for the next driver this SP is going to be peeved. He did not write him up and still got told on. I hope I dont need to go though IL for a few weeks.
-
Illinois has had several troopers killed by trucks the past year so this wouldnt make much of a difference... -
And the year before as well and well for many years back I am sure..... troopers and truckers are out a lot things are bound to happen some time just a pure accident others someone did something wrong. Both are human and make mistakes.

Truckers and troopers share the road for a living - Why cause trouble, or contribute to the animosity?
Tsavory is right, this trooper (and many others now that this story went national) will not give a break to a trucker where they may have before. A lot of truckers will be paying tickets and getting points because this trucker scored his "victory".
Since I'm not a driver yet, I respect that there may be more back story I have not experienced. On the surface though, it just doesn't seem like this was a smart move."semi" retired and Skydivedavec Thank this. -
I would also say that I agree with the driver on bringing the situation to the troopers attention just not the posting it. He has a point we share the roads and I would much rather see a troopers or a trucker on the phone than most 4 wheelers but dont like seeing any with the phone to the ear or in hand texting. And dont give me this BS of a trooper is allowed for their jobs as I said before roadking and others make headsets that will fit even those big heads and they have Motorola on their shoulders and in their cars that put out a pretty dang good distance. Hand should be free to operate the vehicle. Sure was glad I was hands free when my steer blow even though I drive with one hand most the time its free to jump in in a hurry.bergy Thanks this.

Yep, think those excuses would work if we were pulled over for speeding and using a cell phone? Not...
-
The story was replayed on Fox News this morning. The Trooper will now spend the rest of his career punishing the rest of us.
Skydivedavec Thanks this. -
Hi bergy, I agree, this trucker is just throwing gas on a tire fire. I always treated LEO's with respect, and it got me out of many a jam. I'm sure this trucker's info is in the ILL. data base somewhere. I think this is terrible.
ewill71, Skydivedavec and bergy Thank this.
