I have always thought about that but my cheapness gets in the way. I was also thinking about getting those aerodynamic wheel covers but can't find any truck stops that have them.
-
Yes you do, or you wouldn't have went off on a tangent over it.
Well, I hate to break it to you, but you are not my competition, not even close.LBZ and leftlanetruckin Thank this. -
We have a group on Facebook called the "9+ MPG Club" that has a lot of details and even a some other trucks getting more than I am. There is also some threads on here that has most of what I have done if you do some searching. Post your questions in those threads and I will try to help you.

I started with the vinyl ones like Schneider trucks use and did not like the zipper.....

When I upgraded from duals to Michelin X-Ones XDA Energy SS Tires I switched to the stainless steel covers by Real Wheels Corp.

Yeah, there you heavy haulers go again with, "My truck is bigger than yours. I gross so much more than you. You general freight haulers are SO inferior to us." OR this one, "I was driving before you were born."
That's ok heavy haulers. Just know I'll remember that today and everyday when I see you on the road.
Don't expect any favors from little ole inferior sticks 'n bricks hauling me. Except, I will give you plenty of room when I pass you, and be sure to throw the rocks up out of that left shoulder rumble strips at you. I'll be sure to block you in at the J and sleep late too. -
I have the centrimatic balancers on my bfg steers and they really do help as far as even tire wear, worth the money. Thinking of trying the dynamic beads when I replace my drives later this year.

I know that is the numbers given ,for your recaps, but I wonder how a retreader can get R/R numbers? Would that be affected by the casing? Side wall flex has to be a factor? Sure tread design is a large part or am I thinking wrong?
-
I made it through one muddy crane mat yard with some BFG ST244 and 4/32 tread on the drives without getting stuck. The bro behind me come in a used Schneider truck proceeded to get stuck immediately.
Experience makes up for no tread! -
I don't know but you're probably right. The virgin G572 doesn't have much better RR rating. It's not an aggressive tread design I don't know why it gets such "poor" RR marks.
