$1000 a day gross is the ideal number for me. Either 2 days or 5. No 10-30 days for me. Of course being leased on to the right company makes a difference. And overhead.

Thanks for the info, I've been with landstar for over 9yrs. I have an excellent driving and log record, but because their " skybitz don't match my logs they are forcing me install their EOBR. I'm fed up with all their money gouging us to death, they have people sitting behind a desk who are telling us how to drive. I'm looking into other companies....I'm ready to leave.
Cetane+ Thanks this. -
If you think landstar is bad you should try foodliner they get you coming and going then you will be begging to go back to landstar

Think hard about leaving! !! Most other companies are going to elds I don't like them either but every one is going that way.

Driver what you waiting for grab independent life by the horns and ride! It's not that bad out here. i was a BCO for 2 years and left to go independent yeah its a a lot of responsibility but i think its worth it. Pays better. It does take a long time to get established with shippers and brokers and that's the tuff part. You can factor your loads and get paid same day or next day but it comes with a fee i factor and pay 3% but that is okay with me a lot of guys don't agree and they will say your wasting money but hey i get my money same day wired right to the bank. And deff have a few thousand saved to get started! small things come up when you get started and add up fast but once you get going and learn how to do it youl be good. I had my own authority for 8 months, yea still new but im buying another truck prob next week. I also had my new entrant audit yesterday and passed. only thing i didnt have was my driver and myself MVR on file. So do your research get your ducks in line and go for it. Good luck!

Why not just find some good customers who pay within a couple weeks or better yet on delivery? I know there is plenty of places out there that do that!
