I just learned some truck stops want you to pay to park. That's a weird way to go about attracting customers. When did that happen?
You can't park here!

Pay for parking has been around for a long time. Petro and TA are the biggest and have the most TS pay to park. TA and Petro are getting around that pay to park by having reserved parking now. The price to that depends on when you call for reserved.

And there's why we're not welcome in so many places.peterd Thanks this.

There's mom & pops that won't even allow you to park there after buying 200 gallons of fuel without paying an additional fee. At least TA & Petro apply a little "buy something & parking is free" common sense.

Well theres another place we wont be able to park. I had the same problem when I was on hometime. I'd get permision to park in a shopping center parking lot & I'd be the only truck parking there. After a few weeks there's 4 other trucks parking there, then of course they'd find garbage in our parking area and we'd be kicked out! rinse & repeat. I finally started parking in the back of the stores, with permission so no one would know I parked there. Its really sad that a few can ruin it for everyone else.
Raiderfanatic and peterd Thank this. -
I was there about a month ago to take my break before I delivered and also noticed that. So sad. Like the other poster said it won't be long before we won't be allowed to park there. When it comes to Walmart I always call ahead to see if I can park there unlike most Drivers who just park there because they think they can. Somebody mentioned put signs up. It is funny you say that because I always see trucks parked in Walmart parking lots where there are signs saying No Truck Parking. How could I forget being able to read is not required anymore to hold a CDL.

Its always been like that. You get out in the northeast, that crooked part of the states has a lot of truck stops that charge to stay there.

Hi Gordon, That is so cool. Some people are such pigs, and I try and do that as well. My parents taught me never to litter, and I passed that along to my kids. Truth is, there really are no trash cans in most places, and the ones you see are overflowing. It's weird, we've become such a throw away society, and trash cans have become non-existent. I live in a big city, and you could use a garden rake to pick up the trash. When I'd go to Fla. I like to walk on the beach, and watch the sun rise,(and look for shells) and always took a few shopping bags with me, and always filled them up. One of the saddest things I picked up in a store parking lot once, was a wrapper for in car trash bin.

Wow! I have a lot to catch up on. I never once paid to park anywhere and I went to a lot of Petro's and TA's.
