We had three of these threads going which I merged them all together for housekeeping. So if you see something that looks weird reading the whole thread then you know why.

    yep, US against THEM.

you haven't been around long enough, apparently, to see the abuse truckers have been taken from cops. specially since the gooberment CSA crap kicked in 3 years ago.

6 months ago, i, myself, got a ticket and csa. for going faster then the truck could go. on a 1 percent CLIMB.
i don't deny the speeding, 10 over. but he clocked me going 16 over. double jeopardy with my drivng and csa record.

the truck was governed at 67. it's not capable of doing 71.

I sense him being the type that just went to CDL school and has never been around trucking before. After spending a lifetime around it before climbing into the cab I should've known better.

Hook him to a rack and let him get messed with a few times...for stupid stuff, if it's not getting pulled on a set of portables, they'll kick the lights on just to say let me see your log book. There's a jackwad down there south of salina I've had a run in with a couple times. He's a real winner. has a spotlight with him and he'll check to see if your top gate is closed. If it's not gated he'll pull you over and roll you onto a set of portables and throw the book at you. If you're gated he won't bat an eye at you.

One day he will realize why some of us are the way we are this driver was nice...I would've told the officer to get off my step and stay off my step if he wanted to talk to me he could come around to the drivers side, or we could step outside. I don't want an officers filthy mitts on my tractor and I darn sure don't want them snooping around my cab.

Did he show you the device, radar or Vascar, with the clocked speed?
And if you were climbing, had you also just descended, downhill where that speed was attainable?

You are right that I haven't been around awhile, trucking at least, but I turn 57 today and have had my share of speeding tickets, but never one that wasn't warranted and deserved.

I probably tee off a lot of super truckers, because I go the speed limit. It amazes me when every single day I see drivers, professional drivers flying down the road, ignoring the posted limit especially in construction zones.

Sorry this happened to you pal. I can tell you though that there are enough violators out here that Leo doesn't need to make up speed violations. I know though that they WILL work the honey holes, places like the bottom of a hill or speed zone changes where violations often occur. They have to get their quota, albeit an unwritten one.

Still laughing at this awesome and 90% true statement (I think the percentage of the stupid factor is underestimated.)

If I'm speeding and happen to see a cop, I generally don't bother slowing down because I know they've most likely already spotted me.

But then I usually don't go more than 3 miles over the limit, either. Still a violation, but I've never been ticketed for it.

While on duty LEO's are exempt, they don't have to have their lights on. LEO's have training on clocking speed and are specifically trained in how to state that in court. It's your butt not mine, you might beat the charge but you won't beat the ride... Best thing to do if you do happen to video a speeding LEO is to forward a copy of it the department and file a complaint.

I agree with most of you on here, this driver got his five minutes of fame. He got lucky this time. I know a lot of you don't like the police or wanna bash them for doing their job , Some of them might get carried away. But My understanding is when they get dreesed to go to work, they have a target on them, especially the troopers that patrol out in middle of no where. There have been many stories of law enforcement doing their job and being slaughtered where there are no witness's, this also has been happening to us truckers out there. The trooper must have been a young one because he talked to the driver about what happened the vets wont do that and take this guy's actions as well as he did

I've seen so many people on the highways, they see a cop doing around the speed limit and they all pile up behind him. I have a good laugh when I go by them all going just a bit faster.

After I pass, then they get the guts to pass him.

Love the ones that freak out when they see a cop car and slow down to below the limit.
