Some people will believe anything. A company the size of SwiftQuit is gonna just up and shut down tomorrow? It ain't happening, no matter how much the fine. SwiftCo is here to stay, like it or not.

With 20,000 trucks and who knows how many private contracters, can you imagine what would happen to the economy if they one day just shut down. All the other companies out there couldn't pick up the load. It would put some companies out of business. Besides, Swift isn't in charge of the DOL third party testers. Just more untrue gossip. Think about it. The government would not let Swift shut down because of the ripple effect it would have on the economy. With 20,000 trucks and drivers they must be doing something right. I don't work for them. Just an observation.

They have 20,000 rigs there? I remember back in 1995 they had only around 3500. How that company has grown. Sounds like a success story, and maybe it is, at least for somebody. But ask yourself how many drivers have worked at SwiftQuit in the past and walked away before getting in two years or even a single year. How many drivers have they gone through to get to where they are? Far more than 20,000, I can tell you that. I'd be willing to be that among those who have CDLs today, 1 in 4 have worked for SwiftCo at one time or another.

Just to clarify for anybody who doesn't get it....I posted this just because I thought it funny that this moron could believe that this would happen, and that he would know, but it wouldn't have been big news. By the way though, I talked to a former Swift driver(not disgruntled, had nothing but good to say about his 15 years there, just got tired of the road), he said that he thought it had to do either with CDL's being outright sold or just based on accident figures someone figured out that too many people were graduating from that school that shouldn't. With 9 agencies working on it we may know the truth sometime around 2013. By the way this Swift driver...met him at Flying J in Saginaw too, but he has all his teeth and didn't quote his "big brother".

They arent gonna shut down, but they are scaling back their fleet by about 1,500 to 2,000 trucks.

So when do the layoffs start? -
