So I ran tombstone today. There at least 6 restriction signs starting in albany. 60ft semi and 75 doubles. About 2 miles past the scales eastbound was a conway 53ft semi parked on the side. Wow. How do you miss 6ft by 10ft signs. 11 miles of 6% and crooked as dogs hind leg, yeah piece of cake for a non local.

It gets better. Hwy 242 is prolly thee worst 2 lane switch back road in this area. There is a sign at Sisters,Or. and the other end the size of a billboard. Yet there always some joker not from around here that drives up there and well your screwed.
Y2K Thanks this. -
The "old" McKenzie pass is a favorite among the motorcyclist/bicyclist crowds for a good reason.

I've ridden it many a time when it's open,it's usually snowed in until July sometime and often closed due to landslides and road repair construction.

Dave_in_AZ, okiedokie and joseph1135 Thank this. -
That last pic reminds me of the Tail of the Dragon going from North Carolina to Tennessee, 129 going Deal's Gap.

Dave_in_AZ Thanks this.

okiedokie Thanks this.

That would be like you can't get there from here deal. Thanks for the pics, words don't do some roads justice.

I took us20 from nampa to eugene it's like 400 miles across with very few places to stop . Maybe 1 or 2 rest areas but mostly just pull offs. Be sure to fill up your tanks before you go.

I'm in the same situation going from Eugene to Salt Lake. I'm not doing 126. I figure the best-short way is 58/97/20 to Ontario to pick up 84. I-5 to 84 is 70 miles further. It's a wood products load so I'm assuming it's going to have some weight. Weather doesn't look like it will be a factor. Which way would you run?
