Considering moving from dry van to LongHaul Trucking out of Albertville MN running Conestoga. I want more exercise, potentially more money. At an average of $1000 bring home a week. Big plus is they can get me to my new home in Charleston SC. My current employer makes me park at terminal and drive 5 hours home. How easy is operating the Conestoga itself? Opinions about the company LHT?

If they know you cant tie/down freight yet they should have some training, you can read most of basic tie down rules in the book, and learn as you go. What is the whole name of CO.

Longhaul trucking has some really nice equipment. I haven't heard their drivers badmouth them either.
    Good luck.

Conestogas are real simple to use as long as everything is working properly. Mine sat for a year and a half before I bought it and some of the casters arent rolling freely so it either takes 1 person on each side to move it or I get in the middle inside the trailer with a 1x4 and push it thay way. Have to get it to Quickdraw for a few odds and ends.

Conestogas are basically a van trailer. Just make sure you have everything secured very well, because if something comes loose, you won't be able to see it till it slides thru the conestoga sides

Appreciate the advice. I've got some secure net practice in Afghanistan and Iraq while deployed hauling Abrams etc. I'm going to give it a minute for my current company, and give it a lot of thought. But this is where I want to be!

The new roll-tites that Long Haul are installing are super easy to use. They roll back and forth very smoothly and secure easily. The only downside to the conestoga system, if it won't fit, you can't haul. So, if there is something that is even an 1/2" too tall to clear the overhead bars, not gonna happen.

Any of you guys have any. New info on long haul trucking? I'm thinking about going over there and I'm doing my research.

If you really want exercise, then a connestoga defeats the purpose. You'll get home more often with flatbed freight anyway.
