Slept for 5 hrs or so last night at the FJ in Rock Springs, WY... Didn't hear any firework...![]()
Everything went according to my plans...Started driving at 2:30 am to avoid traffic... drove almost all my 11 and now parked at this truck stop in KS.
Not many folks here... that's what I like... Will leave around midnite cause I want to stop at WM across from freeway and do my shopping... Then, will do drop & hook at my co. terminal in OK and then head to receiver in TN.... I will park at another smaller truck stop early tomorrow to make sure will get a good spot. So, I gotta rush.... Having my meal that I cooked here and then will go to bed.
Parked Here for the Night

LOL.... we are the opposite... I say cold totally sucks... You were in Sao Paulo... that place is not really hot... I am from Rio de Janeiro... Rio is hotter and in the summer, you can bet it's about 120F... If you had gone to northeast...
You would totally melt...
I turn the A/C in this truck on sometimes... but have it at 78F cause it still feels cold for me... But can't put it on 80F which is what I like... So, sometimes I have to turn it off and keep only the fan on...RedForeman Thanks this. -
Well so much for my plans. Off to Ft. Worth to pick up a load from a broke down truck. Then High tail it to Denver. Hopefully I'll get a little reimbursement for my short hotel stay. Any way gota roll. We goneeeeee~~~~

Flying J in Birmingham. Ended up being a productive day. Dropped my trailer off an 0900 and bobtailed back to the Pilot and got the truck washed at the Beacon. Then went to Walmart to restock and refill a prescription and as I was walking out got a call that my trailer was ready. Well #### that was much faster than I thought. Called the paper mill in Cottonoton, Al where I was picking up tomorrow and asked them if I could come in. They said we're ready and waiting so off I went. Still can't deliver it till Monday but now I can relax and drive the 215 miles to Jackson, Tn at my leisure tomorrow.

LOL Definitely opposite. It's probably 65 outside, dropping to the upper 50's later, and I have the a/c on LOL. Will shut it off before I go to sleep though. The thermostat at home is set to 74 year round. I run the one in the truck at 68 just due to the small space and the way the cab heats up. In the winter my heater is set to 66.
Stopped at White's on I-81 again. First time I've ever been at this place and found a spot on the front row between the fuel island and the BK. Kinda nice not hiking from the back 40 to get to the facilities. I guess that's the spoils of staying out on a holiday weekend. This load goes to Americold on the west side of ATL tomorrow night then put my truck in the shop for a new radiator and a couple days off.Rocks Thanks this. -
Deadheading to Atlanta to pick up our load around noon then coming back to Morrisville, NC to deliver it.

Welp time for bed
Edit: wow I just got up and looked at my millage from yesterday , I only drove 630 miles
thats horrible. ......oh well what can ya expect for being governed at 62

Staged at the Pilot in Jackson, Tn for delivery tomorrow in town. Delivery is FCFS from 0600-1400 so I will probably show up right at 0600. Reloading here in in Jackson and taking that to Atlanta.
Had a blonde moment today. On pretrip one of my drive tires was reading only 30 psi. It sure didn't feel flat and checking all the other tires my gauge seemed to be working. Checked for nails in the tire...nothing. Figured it was something with the valve stem but really couldn't figure out why it felt aired up so I took it up the road to the Petro. Explained to them what was going on an they figured valve stem or valve core....either way no biggie...pulled her in and tech looked at the cap and said "that cap you have on there fails all the time, did you check it without the cap on?" Uhhhh.....nope....lol.....sure enough that sucker had plenty of air.Dinomite Thanks this. -
aaaaand the washing machines are out of order. Of course.

Changed my mind and parked at a FJ one hr west of the Shell station in N Little Rock that I had in mind... I'm in AR on I-40. Don't know Pilot on the other side of the highway seemed so full at 13:30 hrs... And this FJ still has lots of empty spaces at 16:00...
Finishing cooking in the truck with windows open and I tell you, it does get hot in here when I am cooking in the summer...
but I am not sweating yet....
Just took a nice shower... washed a few things in the sink and hang them to dry next to window.
This is my view without the windshield cover...
Doing my planning for tomorrow and after tomorrow and then rushing to bed.... so that I can sleep about 6 hrs.... I intend to start driving at midnight again... to avoid all the traffic...
