    Sparks, NV.

I was sent a pplan going to San Diego, delivering at 0200 on the 8th.
    Nope.
It would have been hard enough trying to find parking near Minden after the pick up, but San Diego at 0200? No thanks.

    Edit:
In its place I got a nice 1000 mile load to Shelby, MT picking up tomorrow at noon.

Tower City, ND. Was sent another pplan. This time, DH 190 miles to SD, then pu JIT load for 688 miles. Again opposite direction. Portage, IN. I think that this one was the micro map system. Me thinks that my DM and I are going to have to have a long talk in the morning. Should have taken a TX load. At least would have been in the area.

Once you send in a home time request a minimum of 5 days in advance the planners try to get you home within a couple days you want. This depends on freight availability. Sometimes they need to route you away from home to catch a load home. They want you to be out a minimum of 3 weeks before requesting home time.

You can put in a home time request right after you get your first load out of the home. You can put it in for 14 days later if you want. As soon as I leave my home in Ohio I put in a home request for 14 days later for Goodyear, AZ. This makes them get me down South. Then as soon as I get my next dispatch out of PHX, I put in another for 14 days later right back to Goodyear or maybe El Paso. Back in the days of Fontana, would put in for there at times. But that would usually just be a 34 or over nighter. It was just my way of making them keep me south.

I've had problems when putting in a home request with less than 10 days notice.
I always try to do it at least 10-12 days in advance, just to give the planners some decent notice.

when I was otr I usually requested about a week ahead of time and during the final 3 days I started getting picky on the loads, sorry but if im trying to get home to CA and im currently in OR and you want to send me to Montana.....yeah not going to happen, I stayed out normally a month at a time.

Now that im dedicated I can get 1-2 days off a week without requesting, I also put in vacation time with a decent heads up like last week I already told my boss I am taking off 4 days towards the end of August for my wedding anniversary.

sitting in my truck and saw a duffle bag just sitting next those barrier walls(k-rails). watched it for an hour and noone came to get it. so walked to it and pretty heavy. had a tag on it saying pheonix mailbag. went up and gave it to my old dl matt and we walked down and a guy ( dont know who he is) was real suprised. asked if it was messed with. sayed the bag was closed and was just sitting on ground like someone sat it there. told him i opened it up too see what was inside. matt asked him what was in it. he said it could be cash, important papers, or gifts like rings, buckles and such. i would think they would at least lock the bag. so much for security lol. least they got it back. hope noone messed with it b4, but it didnt look like it was

Well this morning, finally a load. PU Bush's and t-call in the morning, IGH. Then DH to Muscatine, IA to pu HOM furniture and get it to Denver on the 10th. I am running on recap so this should be fun. I have 27 hours between now and midnight and figure that it will take about 20 hours. The best part, I am getting paid for loaded miles the whole trip. This includes the mt down to Muscatine. While I was sitting here, another truck came by my front end, trailer tires scrape my bumper. We just traded info. Touch up paint in one area. Get a estimate in the morning. He will pay for it. Not going to get Swift involved since it is my truck.
