What do guys average on a week in miles. I don't know if it's me or the fleet I'm on. I never late if the truck is good to go. I only average about 18 to 22 and that is not cutting it. I'm at home for a day or two thinking of what to do next. Stay or look for another job.

First thing I'd do is tell my DM "I'm only getting 1800-2200 miles a week, that's not cuttin it." And go from there. I can count on 2200-2500 usually.
-
How long it take to get to .42 a mile is it after a yr Otr or a yr of Melton drive time.
-
Don't know the answer to that one! I know that with 1-5 years experience they'll start you at .42 but I'm not sure if they will take you up to 42 when you hit 1 year or if you have to wait until 1 year with melton.

Waiting in long beach to pick up, been here for 3 hours now and they still aren't ready to load me. Was supposed to be home monday, that didn't happen... got preplan for this load and was told I'd be re powering between here and home, now my DM wants me to go past home to repower, putting me 2 more days out instead of 1. Only 5 days late.... wonder what would happen if I was 5 days late for something...

Picked a load in Houston headed for CA. Pre loaded trailer. With ABS problems. Last driver unplugged the indicator light on the trailer. Needs a DOT inspection. Hub is leaking and has a bad tire....yay lucky me
Mrh2008 Thanks this. -
Once you hit. 1 year of total driving experience. 43 cents once you drive 120,000 paid miles with melton
-
I think I know the place your loading. I sat for 5 hours last time there. I live in San Diego so I pick up loss around long beach when I come.off of home time. Headed home now. Will be 2 days late but at least they actually flagged me this time. Last time flag never got put in the system.

I get around 2400 right now. But it seems to go up and down. The only time I went below 2200 was in February when I spent all month up north in the snow and ice. But like MRH2008 said. If you don't say anything to anyone it wont change probably

The website says drivers average $50,000 per year? Truth? or Exaggeration? I am sure a trucking company would never lie?
