Missing a number on your ESN, I'm guessing its a 6? Anyways its a 3406 mechanical engine, 425 hp, 2k rpm and 1450 torque. The DITA is Direct Injection Turbocharger Aspirated, air to air after cooler. 1993 EPA/Carb Emissions. What kind of info are you looking for other then this. I can maybe help you out.

There should be another tag somewhere, states a reference ESN to order parts, 7XC is the prefix for a reman engine and you wont be able to get parts based of that ESN, but the arrangement number sometimes works if you have a good parts guy =P

could be mechanical injector.

Thanks for the responses, I've heard of the b's, c's, and electrical 425 but never this DITA. I know they are stout blocks was just wondering if these were any different or have any areas of concern. So performance wise they should be the same as any other 425?

The very early cat 3406 ( we called them A models) where a pre cup engine. The next generation where direct injected or DI The T is for turbo charged and the A is for after cooled- as in air to air charge air cooling. Good blocks and I think they had fewer spacer plate and head gasket problems than later Cat motors. And, as I recall, rolling main and rod bearings into them seemed to be a common practice every couple hundred thousand miles ... but I don't remember if there was a reason for it or it was just something everyone did just because...
I think I will go get another cup of coffee.jdiesel3406 and KDT Thank this. -
There were no air to air cooled 3406A engines, usually with a DITA they all have air to water coolers on them. The early B models carried this same designation before they went to air to air.
KDT Thanks this. -
This is not an A. This is B or C. JWAC would be an A or early B. DITA is direct injection turbo aftercooler.

Thanks for the replies and the info fellas I do appreciate it. Looking back at the pictures I did miss a number its 7XC12721

My 7FB is JWAC and was being made right along the air to air engines as it is an 88 model. As long as the were producing both styles they had to way to keep them separate, that's why you can find arrangement numbers that have ataac in the description.
