So you found out it was limited to 50 MPH after you purchased it? That means you didn't even take it for a test drive on the highway before buying it???? WTF?
I found a site that can generate passwords for the different versions of Insite software, still have hope, lol!
freightwipper, I had a friend of mine put it through the paces as it was an out of town purchase...he did drive the truck, but appartently, not on the highway. Overall the truck is very mechanically sound, just slow, lol
Where do you come up with this (totally incorrect) information at exactly? Hopefully not too many people try to follow it, and waste money in doing so. The password can be anything they set it to be. Martin
Just to add to my post. A Marten truck I bought had the 65 mph governor on it still. An hour of labor at Orlando Freightliner had a new lock code put in and it set at 72 MPH. That was a Detroit though.
That will give you an illegal copy of the software needed to change it, but you can't change anything without you ECM password. Any Cummins dealer can change your speed as well as reset your password. Any dealership that sells trucks with a Cummins engine should be a Cummins dealer, so you have a lot of options.
