Morning Gingersquatch! When is your last day? On my next home time should I start getting some stuff out of my truck? I haven't officially put my notice in, but I have 2 local jobs I'm deciding between now. Ones a union dump job. 35 an hour. I'm about 190 miles from Gary, but I don't know if I could get anyone out here to move me out of my truck apartment haha! Too much stuff!
I seriously loved this job in the beginning. Cool people. Awesome cities to visit. But I just can't handle all the rest and I miss my babies. <3 my daughter starts dance again in a couple months and if I'm not home every Monday and Wednesday to take her she won't be able to go, and that's important to me.
Starting to realize money ain't everything. (especially the pennies with Roehl, LOL)

Today is my last day of working and turn my truck in in the morning. I don't travel with much, mostly just food, cloths, some cleaning stuff, a hockey stick (great flatbed tool and entertainment) and my fishing poles because of all the sitting I get to do on every weekend, so I didn't bother taking anything out. I just brought along some boxes to put stuff in and will load it right into the car. Only 170 miles you should be able to find someone. If not, a rental car shouldn't be too expensive for that trip. Or, clean everything out except a bag and take a bus.

We figured it'd be cheaper for me to eat out of the truck and pay for gas than it would be to rent a car or a bus ticket.

I think you're right. I could get my brothers to come out and get me. I still have all my stuff from winter under my bunk! Coveralls, boots, etc. so I will probably start getting that stuff out when I go home next.
I think I missed where your new job is? I tried to catch up with all the posts but think I missed a couple pages. Good luck though! :)

I'm at ROETG for the last time tonight. Just about have everything packed up. Gonna shower sleep and turn the truck in in the morning. So excited.

Also found out that my truck mate from rdtc is turning his truck in tonight.

Heysunshine and Ginger, I am curious. You both say you spend most weekends sitting, are you sitting cause your 70 has expired and you have a 34 hour re-set? or, you are not getting load assignments yet you have time on your clock?

What usually happens is I am given a load on Friday or Thursday with only 300-600 miles on it (the one I got Thursday was a 1000 milers) and it will not be accepted until Monday morning. Only once have I sat on the weekend to reset my 70. Besides that, my load for that weekend was only 150 miles, so I just sat and knocked it out Monday morning. All the other weekends I have plenty of time. I manage my 70 well.

If it was because I needed a reset, I wouldn't be complaining about it.

    Heysunshine Thanks this.

Gingersquatch do you still owe Roehl for their school or did you pay upfront? It sounds like their school is good if I can't get in at a tech college right away is why I'm asking. Do you know of anyone that went to their school then went with another carrier?
