You should call and speak with a Roehl recruiter, they will answer all your questions. The Rider program depends on you meeting your safety requirements, again, speak with a recruiter. I would recommend Kim Calhoun - http://www.roehl.jobs/

For school, training, or on your own?

For school, you have your own room, microwave and fridge. I brought enough food to last me the whole three weeks.

For trainer, ask them about cooler space. If they'll let you use their cooler, get some lunch meat (I suggest burrito shells instead of bread, easier to keep) some cheese, condiments for said sandwich. I also brought instant oatmeal and ramen noodles, and some carrots, sugar snap peas, some crackers, and triscuits.

On your own, I have a Coleman 40qt electric cooler and it does the job.i like to keep lunch meat, condiments, salads, yogurts, and some microwave burritos, as well as sodas. (I try to stick to the "zero" and "ten" sodas)

I like to keep lots of water with me in flatbed. I try to have at least 5 gallons with me when I ship out. I usually go through 6+ in a 2 week period.

keep some things with reach of the drivers seat to snack on. There's great space for it right above your head. I love triscuits, cheezits, crackers, granola bars, ect... Also some candy up there. Every one gets a craving for something sweet.

As far as what else, you'll figure out what you like to eat out here.

That is correct. Turning in my truck in a hour as soon as my ride arrives.

No. I was national flatbed. I would stay out 11-14 days and be home for 3

I'm a new driver, 2 weeks. My question is what do I do when I'm done unloading and I have no preplan? I never get a preplan, I have to ask the cons IF I can sit and most of time they give me about 30-40 mins before I get kicked out. I always end up calling FM to tell him that I'm getting kicked out and I have no place to go. It's getting frustrating when they know where I am going. Not to mention my hours are down to about 9 hours a day. Just curious as what I should be doing???? Thanks

I'm not a Roehl trainer, but I used to work for them, and that was one of the few reasons I left. The longest I sat was a day. Only my fm wouldn't respond to my calls, or Qualcomm messages. It became frustrating, VERY quickly. When I first started at Roehl I had a preplan before I unloaded, towards the end that never happend anymore. My best advice would be to talk to your FM about it, and how your getting frustrated. If that doesn't work, go ABOVE your fm and talk to his boss to try and get it resolved. It never did for me but it's worth a shot, like I said that was 1 of the reasons that drove me on outta there. Good luck and stay safe

What fleet are you on? If you're local, it can be a challenge for the planners to find you something that keeps you close. I know when I can only head one direction because I'm either going home or I need to get a student to a terminal to test, I at times have to wait for a PP too. If they can send you anywhere, in all directions, it's much easier to plan you.
