Yes I'm still here, and still loving it. Things are great. We are just as busy as ever. Although I did just have to get my turbo replaced last week. My first big breakdown. All was good though. Truck running like a new one. Believe it or not PGT got me in and out of the shop in about 3 hours. Still was able to make it home for the weekend.

I'm not sure Semi-Crazy is speaking knowledgeably regarding the PGT Lease Purchase program. PGT hires very few students, mostly focusing on experienced drivers. The trucks are a mixture of fleet trucks and trucks bought from other carriers that fit the profile. Finally, PGT supports its Lease Purchase drivers with financial support when the truck has major maintenance issues. See if your local bank will do that. Over $1 million lent in last 18 months. That is why their lease purchase program is growing very quickly. Drivers know a good program when they see it.

Really doesn't speak well of the company that they had to spend $1M in 18 months to keep their drivers on the road.

It says two things ... the company is palming off cheap poorly maintained trucks and the program doesn't throw off enough cash for a driver to maintain thier truck.

The $1 million is for both lease purchase and independent contractors with their own trucks. Over 600 in total. You may not like the company, which is your choice, but if those drivers wouldn't have gotten the support, they wouldn't have been able to keep running and supporting their families. We were happy to do it.

I have been here over a year and have been able to maintain my truck just fine on the $175 a week I put in my maintenance. This turbo being replaced was the first time I had to get money from PGT to pay a bill. My payments on all the work combined $200 a week till paid off. It's a rent to own turbo lol. The point is not that I had to get money to pay a bill , it's that they have your back regardless. I looked everywhere for a lease purchase plan that works , and most just didn't add up for my benefit. I took a 2 week vacation in the first of June. So basically I owed 3 weeks worth of expenses counting the week I came back. I paid off all 3 weeks with one check. Guess what. They didn't charge me trailer rent or maintenance for the time off. Finding one that actually gives you a chance at being successful is a very rare thing. So glad this is where I ended up.
