Oh come on now, those are "high sounding principles" with absolutely no basis in what the plaintiff and his attorneys are after. They are going for the "deep pockets" the "cold hard cash." And realistically, who can blame them?
I don't like seeing this, I don't like lawsuits and I don't like attorneys, but they do have a time and a place. I just wonder how they can prove that wallyworld knew this guy was not fit to drive? They probably had no idea of it.

I don't like lawsuits, so if you're going to file one you should do it to accomplish a goal other than making a few bucks. The driver should be held accountable, and wages garnished until he dies regardless of any bankruptcy filings. Not realistic, I know, scumbag lawyers will weasel him out of it, but c'mon, anything less won't get through the skulls of the supertruckers.

Not in the mood for a civics lesson tonight kids.....but may i suggest a little light reading on the differences and ramificatiins of CIVIL TRIAL vs a CRIMINAL TRIAL....and this is a CIVIL SUIT.......
bergy Thanks this. -
It matter's not that it's a civil trail... If Wal-mart has to publicly pay money, then in the public's eyes Wal-mart is guilty and so is the driver. Their IS precedent for that thinking... and a lot of it. It's the reason Wal-mart settles quickly if they can at all help it.
Perception is 9/10's of reality... I believe that is the quote anyway. -
^^^^^^I do not disagree one bit--I made the comment to earlier comments about what people were claiming would ACTUALLY happen to the driver due to this civil suit....
Of course as I stated earlier--WE will never know--MALWART will settle--Tracy will get $$$$--there will be a GAG ORDER and the only thing the public will know is the suit was SETTLED -
According to celebrity net worth Tracy is worth about 18 million, I assume he will be getting 30 million+, and then probably 10 million for his dead mentor. But ya it will be an undisclosed amount to the public so future people suing Walmart don't think they will be striking that amount.
-
I'm not their hugest fan, but having worked their for 9 & 1/2 yr's, I've seen a little of the inner workings, that the general public doesn't see....unless of course they actually look, which most don't. It's a corporation, the good, the bad and the ugly happens, because people are people.
It is unfortunate that either trial can have a negative effect on the other. Legally, no... in the public's eyes yes. -
personally if i drove 700 miles to work than have to leave out i wuld be tierd than againg i wuld have not taking the run walmart sucks
-
I'm not going to say Walmart sucks because if this is what happened, the driver could have very well said no.He might have not been sleepy tired but driving 700 miles alone wears a person out then taking the load once he got there, that's just plain stupid on the drivers part if indeed that's what happened.

As much as I despise Walmart, Walmart isn't to blame. This is solely on the driver. I get why Tracy Morgan is suing Walmart, but they did no wrong here.
