You can't have alcohol in your truck, in any way, any time, on duty or off, open container or not. No alcohol in truck. I think there's also a rule about no alcohol within 12 hours (maybe 24) of drivetime, so your 10hr break isn't going to make it. Not so sure about that one, it may be a carrier policy.
wyldhorses Thanks this. -
I don't think that's due to being a truck stop. A lot of states have regulations prohibiting the consumption of alcoholic beverages on the property licensed only for packaged liquor sales.
-
Is it illegal to fart in the truck too ? I think the guy next to me just did, should I call the US Marshall's ?Opendeckin, IH Truck Guy, Joetro and 4 others Thank this.

I was going to say, I have never seen a sign on any of the places I had drank a beer at. I use to grill up some steaks on my 34 while drinking a couple cold ones! Never had anybody call on me, complain about me, nothing, only had people ask if I had extra steak.... Go buy your own crazy!!!zenaddler, wyldhorses and browndawg Thank this.

A lot of time it's posted but unless you're at the front door causing a fuss drunk off your ###, the cops won't even catch a whiff.
-

any state that allows alcohol sales in a general retail store~~~you Will see alcohol sold in truck stops...jus not usually in the chains....since it is against their coroorate policy.......but walk into any other in Mo/il/la (just to name a few)& it is sold.....and most if the t/s in La~~~r full blow liquor stores! lol
semi retired semi driver Thanks this. -
I think the FMCSA rules are the no alcohol in the truck without a BOL, none in the tractor at all, 8 hours from bottle to throttle, any detectable BAC is 10 hours OOS and anything .04 or above is a DUI.
I REALLY miss beer!
